Hoe werkt het hier eigenlijk ?

Zoals eerder uitgelegd: nummers nemen het 1-op-1 tegen elkaar op. Je geeft 1 punt aan het nummer dat jij naar de volgende ronde wilt stemmen.

Sodeju, is dit de langste jaarbattle ooit in dit spelletje?

Nu heb ik het vaker geprobeerd, met weinig succes, maar ik probeer het nogmaals.
Ook omdat het in de "finale der finale" volgens mij goed beviel, we hierna toch niks meer te battelen hebben én omdat er een shitload aan nieuw te ontdekken metal in deze lijst staat: zullen we weer elke dag één battle doen? Deadline weer op bijvoorbeeld 20.00 uur zetten? Hebben we de tijd om de nummers te luisteren en weet je waar je aan toe bent, zonder dat je even met je ogen knippert weer drie battles verder bent.

Met deze snelheid zijn we over 254 dagen aanbeland bij de finale:
20 oktober 2025 FINALE: Blood Incantation - Opeth.

Kijk aan, blijk ik meteen de vraag van ProGNerD (NIET VOLLEDIG) te hebben beantwoord.

Als dit retrospectief correct blijkt te zijn, dan mag je de hyperenthousiaste Freek Vonk(wissel)trofee mee naar huis nemen zonder hem in te hoeven leveren.

Dan hebben we even twee maanden rust en dan kunnen we los voor 2025.

Dit begint op een mooi format te lijken voor een jaarlijks terugkerend festijn: een iets grotere deelnemerspoule, zodat we het spelletje over een langere tijd uit kunnen smeren en zo in een geheel jaar het beste metalnummer van het voorafgaande jaar bepalen.

24 uur vind ik erg lang in de beginfase. Soms is het toch vrij duidelijk en ik verwacht ook minder deelnemers dan tijdens de finale der finale.
Wat mij betreft doen we na de 2024-editie een ander soortgelijk spelletje en gaan we bijvoorbeeld op zoek naar het beste metal nummer per land. Ik had nog meer ideetjes neergepend, ergens, even te lui om op te zoeken. En maken we daar ook een groot festijn van. De grote landen zou je tot wel 1000+ nummers kunnen nomineren, en de kleine landen 128 bijvoorbeeld. En daarna hebben we opnieuw een finale der finale.

En Blood Incantation zal met, ik vermoed, The Stargate vast heel ver komen, maar vorig jaar leek het ook de gedoodverfde winaar en gingen ze 6-4 ten onder tegenover nota bene Wayfarer in de kwartfinale.

Hoe dan ook, de loting zal ten vroegste voor vanavond zijn. Hebben jullie nog enkele uurtjes om hierover te discussiëren.

Elke battle 24 uur laten staan lijkt me in de beginfase net wel interessant eigenlijk, omdat ik niet kan geloven dat iedereen die gaat meestemmen de meerderheid van die nummers echt kent, en wat tijd om een oordeel te vellen wel op prijs zal stellen. Vanaf ronde 2 kan het misschien weer wat sneller, al zijn we dan ook alweer dik 4 maand verder.

Mij maakt het niet zoveel uit, ik vind het wel altijd fijn om te kunnen stemmen, ook al betekent dat slechts het veranderen van de stand van 5-0 in 5-1..

Alternatief is om weer met ladders aan te vatten tot het veld is uitgedund tot 128 (of 64) songs. Maar dan zou ik opperen elke ladder 48 uur te laten staan op zijn minst, en uit bijvoorbeeld 8 songs te laten bestaan (dan hebben we 32 ladders).

Wat mij betreft alles lekker husselen en starten met 128 battles. En dan 24 uur per battle.

Battles of ladders maakt me niet zoveel uit, maar ik voel er ook wel wat voor om - als het battles worden - deze 24 uur te laten staan. Dat biedt toch wat meer ademruimte en mogelijkheid om te luisteren, want ik vond het zelf inderdaad ook wel eens vervelend om in te loggen en te zien dat er al meer dan vijf andere battles zeer snel waren beslecht.

Ladders hebben mijn voorkeur, omdat dat ongelukkige lotingen in de eerste ronde enigszins voorkomt. Zo lullig wanneer je favoriete nummer van 2024 meteen tegenover Blood Incantation staat bijvoorbeeld.

En een beste metal nummer per land-spelletje met min of meer hetzelfde format, is daar animo voor?

Dat is waar ja. Het werken met ladders geeft wel een dynamischer speelveld. Ik kan me wel vinden om het spelletje in ladderformat af te werken, mits de rest daar uiteraard mee akkoord is...

Dat wil ik wel doen mits voldoende animo (zit wel goed geloof ik), maar dan moet iemand mij wel wat tips en tricks geven hoe je gemakkelijk en snel honderden nummers kan loten. Zowel 1-op-1 als ladders van 8.

Is het een optie om ladders van 4 nummers per keer te doen? Als je 8 nummers van soms gemiddeld 10 minuten dagelijks moet doorspitten lukt het mij iig niet om een goed oordeel te vellen.

Ik ben gewoon voor tot de 7 of 8 of 9 stemmen en de 24 uurs regel.
Werkte prima.
Maar als het anders wordt ook prima, maar dat heeft mijn voorkeur.

Ik vond dat met die ladders ook erg leuk. Vind ik ook een uitstekend idee.

Gewoon houden zoals het was.

Tot de 5, 1 verschil en de 24 uursregel. Werkte goed. Duidelijk voor iedereen. Praktisch gezien staat er heus niet elke avond stipt 20.00 uur een nieuwe battle. Battles missen is misschien ook wel een kwestie van prioriteiten stellen.

Benieuwd naar de loting

Hiermee is dat vrij makkelijk, inderdaad. Ik heb het aantal nummers wel 'ns nageteld en kom op 259 uit. Het is niet evident om na te gaan waar het precies is misgelopen, anders maar de laatste drie nominaties die voor driekoppige deelname zorgen buiten beschouwing laten? Dat zijn:

DVNE - Eleonora

Ik heb een paar probeersels hierop losgelaten, maar dit werkt toch niet goed? De ingevoerde nummers worden niet aan elkaar gekoppeld en een ladder van 4 of 8 maken (met evt. bepaalde voorwaarden, zoals niet 2x dezelfde band) kan dit systeem niet. Of kost dit jou normaliter heel veel tijd en moeite om 128 battles of 32 ladders te randomiseren? Ik dacht dat al die spelleiders dit in een handomdraai deden.
