01. Kevin Rowland & Dexy's Midnight Runners - Too-Rye-Ay
Deze blijft lekker op 1 staan. Onderschat soul meets folk album.
Zoveel rijker dan het sufgedraaide Come on Eileen doet vermoeden.

02. Modern Enlgish - After the Snow
Een heel fijn, pastoraal postpunk plaatje.
Modern English was één van 4ADs eerste paradepaardjes.

03. T.C. Matic - L'Apache
De Belg in mij eet graag een boterham met.
Witte Europese wave en zwarte funk met reggae toetsen.

04. John Cale - Music for a New Society
Samen met de nummer 1 het enige album dat ik behoud.
Ik ben geen onvoorwaardelijke fan, maar soms is Cale pure poëzie.

05. Mike Oldfield - Five Miles Out
Vroeger als fan vond ik het album wel stukken beter.
Nu heeft het vooral nog nostalgische waarde ... verre van zijn beste.

Het lijkt me dat deze commentaar bedoeld is voor Choco (1983).
Waar was ik weer met mijn gedachten?

L'Apache is een stomende dans doorheen de Europese muziekcatalogus.
Arno en ço vermengen hun donkere wave met allerlei frivoliteiten.

Nu, bij nader inzien, Five miles out is toegevoegd, kan ik niet anders dan kiezen voor dit neurotische album.

Ik heb er heel wat mensen mee de stuipen op het lijf gejaagd dan wel ze er mee de deur uitgekregen, maar mij pest je niet, met deze Oldfield.

Ik mis alleen nog steeds mijn dierbare Somewhere in Afrika cd van Manfred Mann's earth band en het onvolprezen Lead me to the water van Gary Brooker.
