Weliswaars heb ik deze keer niet meegedaan, maar ikvolg deze game van Dazzler altijd wel; interessant en leuke opzet en de manier waarop Dazzler het neerzet.

Opvallende zaken van mijn kant: Tom Petty haast in de top 10 (als je liefhebber bent van dit type muziek beslist een aanrader) en de hoge notering van The The met Mind Bomb. Ik ken deze laatste niet (wel Soul Mining) en zal 'm eens beluisteren.

Mijn Nits top 3 gaat als volgt.

1. Ting
2. Work
3. In the Dutch Mountains

Dus ik ben blij dat je Work 5 sterren gunt, maar dat wist ik al.
Daarom was ik des te verraster dat je Ting, want dat is volgens mij
toch dé plaat bij uitstek die je bedoelt als te ver gezocht en te pretentieus,
helemaal niet kan smaken. Ik vind je argumenten ook jammer.
Het zijn toch mensen die kunstacademie gevolgd hebben.
En die link met de kunst zit toch al in hun eerste platen.
Ik heb dat nooit als pretentieus ervaren.

Maar ik begrijp nu wel beter dat die aanpak hen in Nederland
minder in dank wordt afgenomen (misschien inderdaad de verklaring
voor hun geringe succes op de site) dan in andere landen.

Het surrealisme in hun werk spreekt mij enorm aan.
Maar ik ben dan ook een landgenoot van Rene Magritte.
Het zit wellicht wat meer in onze volksaard.

Als ik naar de Nits luister is het alsof ik een album van Kuifje lees.
Dat klinkt gek, maar die associatie is er bij mij zeer vaak.
De klare poplijn noem ik het wel eens.
