Perfume Genius: nieuwe single is anders dan we van hem gewend zijn. Donkerder, meer spanning en elektronischer, een heel aparte clip, maar wel een fantastisch nummer!
Rahat Fateh Ali Khan: dankzij de lijst van Eigenwijze 30 komt er ook wat wereldmuziek lnas in dit topic, en daar ben ik hem dankbaar voor. Eerst was er al de prachtige ontdekking van de Tunesiër Dhafer Youssef. De muziek van de Pakistaanse zanger Rahat Fateh Ali Khan had in aanvankelijk wat meer moeite mee, maar na hem ook in de tiplijst van Herman tegengekomen te zijn, weer eens opgezet en hij beviel al beter. In mijn tiplijst gegooid, en nadat ik hem daarin meerdere malen had gehoord, ging ie toch steeds meer groeien. Ik denk dat de zang voor velen wel een obstakel zal zijn.

Maar 12 stemmers deze week, toch heel wat minder dan de vorige weken, hopelijk maar een eenmalig dipje! Het zorgt wel voor een nieuwe nummer 1 en 8 nieuwe platen in de lijst.

Het lijkt haast expres, Johnny Marr en Morrissey bovenaan en de oude concurrent die daar niet boven uit weet te komen, U2. Inmiddels een live clip van dit nummer want de studio versie is verbannen. Ik had het nummer uit mijn lijst gehaald als ik het niet meer had kunnen linken.

Dit valt toch echt onder categorie graag of heel niet want dat je een album gratis via I-tunes verspreidt is nog tot daar aan toe, singles moeten altijd beschikbaar zijn voor iedereen.

De nieuwe namen voor mij zijn Rose Ave, de Seasurfers (dank aan Frank) en de Cold War Kids, waarbij totaal verschillende muziek wordt gemaakt. Mooie herrie dus bij de Seasurfers en de Cold War Kids, mooie stiltes bij Rose Ave.....
