Marissa Nadler: prachtige, mysterieuze, sprookjesachtige folk zoals we van haar gewend zijn
Hydrogen Sea: sfeervolle elektronische popmuziek met fijne vrouwenzang van onze zuiderburen
HAIM: ze klinken alsof ze door Timbaland zijn geproduceerd met nog een stevige elektrische gitaar erdoorheen. Onvergelijkbaar met de vorige singles maar naar mijn mening wel erg gaaf! Een stuk rauwer ook.

Enkele "oudjes" laten weer van zich horen. Eens zien of de nummers van Billy Idol en Sinead O' Connor beklijven. Voorlopig reken ik ze nog niet direct bij hun beste nummers, maar ze hebben nog tijd om te groeien. Die van Sinead heeft zeker potentie. Eindelijk weer eens een lekker uptempo track van deze dame.

De lijst van week 36, 16 stemmers deze keer, en dat leidt zowaar tot het verdwijnen van de nummer 2 van vorige week, Alt-J! Aan nummer 1 Caribou lijkt voorlopig weinig te doen, 5 keer in een top-4, terecht op 1 dus.

Een bescheiden binnenkomst voor Perfume Genius. Ik moet er nog even aan wennen maar het is zeker niet slecht.

U2 heeft een nieuw album en ze hebben ook vandaag de nieuwe single gepresenteerd.
Het kan gebeuren dat je de link naar Youtube aanklikt en dat het nummer er al weer van af is gehaald. Er worden vele pogingen ondernomen het nummer op Youtube te zetten, maar vanwege rechten wordt het er ook elke keer weer vanaf gehaald.

Verder zeer boeiend nieuw werk van artiesten die nieuw zijn voor mij. Loudon Wrainwright III en Sean Rowe bijvoorbeeld.

Ja, het weegt nog niet op tegen de nieuwe single van de Boxer Rebellion maar die heb ik vorig jaar ontdekt en is inmiddels een doorgewinterde band van veteranen.

Het is grappig dat je The Boxer Rebellion de veteranen noemt, want Loudon Wainwright III is pas echt een folkveteraan, een zanger die bijna 45 jaar in het vak zit. Hij is overigens ook de vader van Martha en Rufus Wainwright en was getrouwd met één van de zusjes McGarrigle, Kate of Anna.

Ik laat het ook helemaal voor mijn rekening

The Boxer Rebellion heb ik vorig jaar voor het eerst gehoord. Wainwright III hoor ik nu pas voor het eerst eens voorbij komen.
Hij was natuurlijk ook geen hitkoning of iemand die de albumlijsten jaarlijks heeft bestookt.

Ik ben eerlijk in dit soort zaken, wat heeft het voor nut je beter voor te willen doen
