Maar één nieuwe deze week, maar wat voor een binnenkomer: Pink Floyd! Misschien had men deze al een paar weken terug in mijn lijst verwacht, toen musician hem al noemde. Maar de link die hij toen verschafte, leidde naar een simpel instrumentaal gitaarnummer dat ik met de beste wil van de wereld niet in mijn top 20 kon zetten. Maar recent hoorde ik Louder than words op de radio, en het was een complete song met zang en typische Pink Floyd-klanken, en die mag zeker wel in mijn top 20. Nog even gecheckt, en de huidige link bij musicians Louder than words leidt naar weer een andere song van PF, ook niet single-waardig, ik begrijp hier niet veel van. En in de Dutch Charts top 100 komt Pink Floyd deze week binnen met Things left unsaid, dus ik ben de draad weer helemaal kwijt. Soms duurt het wel eens even voor er een kwartje valt en ik dat dit keer gehad bij Jack White. Geheel over het hoofd gezien en genegeerd, wil ik hem hierbij graag alsnog een kans geven. Veel andere prachtige dingen ook. Ik mag toch aannemen dat iedereen als een blok gaat vallen voor Little Maggie van Robert Plant, de muziek is toch een zegen voor de mensheid. Zelfs U2 weet zich enigszins ingetogen en vooral aardig te presenteren met een nieuwe song van hun laatste album.

Helemaal niet verkeerd. Lenny Kravitz gun ik graag een plaats en eindelijk heeft hij dan weer eens iets aardigs. Ik vond dat vorige nummer, Sex, niet veel aan en besteedde daarom ook niet tijdig aandacht aan The Chamber. Maar ten onrechte. Matt Simmons is een volgend talent (want nog niet eerder genoteerd) in het herontdekte singer/songwriter genre.

musician The Chamber van Lenny Kravitz was de eerste single van z'n nieuwe album en kwam als ik me niet vergis in juni al uit. Is destijds veel gedraaid, maar bereikt ook nu pas de hitlijsten. Maar beter laat dan nooit, geweldige single.
