Was inderdaad een zeer moeilijke noot om te kraken. Dit blijft één van de beste bands ooit, al behoren ze niet tot mijn ultieme favorieten. Wel jammer dat al die studioversies zo tam en zielloos lijken als je ze vergelijkt met SMS, ik blijf het zeggen.

The Lady Don't Mind & (Nothing But) Flowers zouden top-3 scoren als ze de finale gehaald hadden ...

Het verschilt heel erg per nummer. Zo is Take Me To the River in de studioversie nauwelijks te vergelijken met de SMS-versie die vooral een lange jam van het nummer is.

De blues die in de originele versie zit, komt niet zo sterk tot uiting in andere live-versies, vind ik.

Geniaal nummer. Toen Stop Making Sense in de filmzalen draaide kon niemand stil blijven zitten. Geweldige ritmische muziek, en dan vooral Burning Down the House!

Ik ontdekte dit nummer pas vrij laat, door een artikel over het einde van Club Trouw waarbij dit het laatste nummer was dat gedraaid werd in een non-stop sluitingsweekend. Wie de tekst voor het eerst hoort, denkt dat het gaat over een liefde. Een vrouw bijvoorbeeld. Maar dit artikel bewees dat een tekst multi-interpretabel is. Het ging namelijk over een gebouw, een club waar de bezoekers thuis konden komen. Om te dansen, om plezier te hebben.

De volgorde was ook bij mij anders geweest als ik van sommige nummers de stop making sense versie had meegeteld.

Onderaan hadden een paar afvallers ook wat punten gekregen maar de top 6 is ook wel echt mijn top 6 (wbt studioversies dan) op het moment.

Daar kun je toch gewoon rekening mee kunnen houden? Ik ga altijd uit van de imo beste versie van een nummer. Slippery People staat bij mij op 4 als de live-versie, de studioversie zou misschien net aan de top 10 halen.
