Absoluut een erg fijne nummer 1 dat UP.
Ben iets meer voor de "soul" albums van Bowie, maar hij is (was) zeer bevoorrecht met zoveel klasse albums.
Aan zaaf: Ben pas net ingehaakt, maar een fraaie presentatie. Je zit toch echt in spanning of dit of dat album dan inderdaad zo hoog kan zijn gekomen.

Mooie top 20 vol met soul (zoals wel verwacht) en geen PF.

En dan nu op naar 1980. Deze stille ridder heeft uitzicht op een van de hoofdsteden van de vroegere dubbelmonarchie.

O ja, nog even over die puntentelling. Uiteraard is het zaafs feestje, maar ik ben persoonlijk toch van mening dat voor elke afwijking van de voor de hand liggende puntentelling (nrs. 1 t/m 20 krijgen 20 t/m 1 punt) een goede reden moet zijn.

Mijn argument van eerder in de ontknoping iets anders geformuleerd: als dat ineens 30 t/m 11 is, impliceert dat wat mij betreft toch dat voor het merendeel van de deelnemers er nog heel veel onder de nummer 20 kwam. Op grond van de talrijke opmerkingen over 'schrapen' heb ik de indruk dat dat toch tegenvalt.

Ook bij mij is het kwaliteitsverschil tussen top en bodem van de lijst meestal toch wel groot. Soms springt de top-2 eruit, soms de top-4 en soms de top-7, maar grosso modo geloof ik niet dat de complexe puntentelling meer recht doet aan mijn bijdrage dan een simpele.

En natuurlijk een compliment voor zaaf voor de verzorging tot in de details

Even terugkomend op de these van Casartelli.

Ik heb erover nagedacht en het blijft een kwestie van smaak. Ikzelf houd een voorkeur voor een extra waardering. Zeker nu het argument van 'schrapen' naar mijn idee steeds minder gaat spelen en de keuzemogelijkheden nog overvloediger worden.
Een voorbeeld als illustratie: als twee mensen een plaat bijzonder appreciëren en deze op plek 1 en op plek 2 zetten, dan krijgt die plaat 39 punten.
Als zeven mensen een andere plaat mooi genoeg vinden om die in hun top 20 te vermelden en deze op 16 plaatsen, krijgt dat arme kleinood slechts 35 punten.
De kwestie is dus: beloon je die bredere waardering of doe je dat niet.

Ik doe dat nu wel, ook om één-tweetjes te bemoeilijken.

Als lieden hier nog een plasje over willen doen, lees ik het graag. Wellicht zijn er argumenten die mij over de streep trekken.

Klopt. Het is bij de diverse ladderspellen op deze site ook een terugkerende discussie: zou iedereen alle nummers punten moeten geven of geeft iedereen (zoals nu gebruikelijk) ongeveer de helft van de nummers punten (en krijgt de andere helft dus impliciet de minimumscore: 0). En dan gaat het nog om een afgebakend aantal nummers, hier heb je geen idee hoe veel albums uit het jaar in kwestie de gemiddelde gebruiker (voldoende) kent en (voldoende) goed vindt.Voor mij valt of staat dat toch een beetje met hoe goed gebruikers A en B hun nummers 1 en 2 vinden en hoe goed gebruikers C t/m I hun nummer 16 vinden. En dan heeft wat mij betreft een plaat die door een paar mensen echt top gevonden wordt meer aanwezigheidsrecht in een toplijst dan een plaat die door een boel mensen wel aardig gevonden wordt.Tja. Dat zou idealiter niet nodig moeten zijn, maar als je als spelleider een sterke indruk hebt dat er veel (tegen de regels in) vooroverlegde één-tweetjes ingediend worden, dan moet je misschien de lijstjes in kwestie iets royaler diskwalificeren in plaats van kunstgrepen in het puntensysteem te introduceren.

Als iemand een plaat op 1 zet van de 20 vindt hij die plaat 19 plekken beter dan de nr. 20.
Als iemand een plaat op 16 zet..zijn er nog altijd 15 platen die die persoon beter vindt, anders had die persoon m wel hoger gezet.

Point being: waarom dan 7 x 16 bevoordelen boven een 1 en 2?
Die 7 vinden een boel andere platen dus beter..

Niet alleen worden een tweetjes benadeeld maar eventueel ook 3tjes of 4tjes.
En verder zijn er veel Zappa fans of andere artiesten fans en minder Magazine fans bv.
Dus door het veel noemen dat een voordeel te geven

Ja dat volg ik. Zo kan je een verschil als groot beschouwen.
Aan de andere kant worden deze twintig uit duizenden platen gekozen, dus moeten ze sowieso wel erg goed zijn. We zetten geen rotzooi in onze toppen. Zo bezien zijn de onderlinge verschillen weer minder groot. Mijn nummers 16 zijn zonder uitzondering heel erg goed, en niet wel aardig.

Elk telsysteem heeft voor- en nadelen.

Ga je voor de bredere waardering, dan hebben classic albums voordeel ten opzichte van outsiders.
Want dat eerste soort albums wordt door meerdere mensen genoemd.

Daarom telde ik in mijn spelletjes gewoon de scores,
maar bij een gelijke stand, kreeg de plaat met de meeste waarderingen het voordeel.

Ik heb ooit eens een spel anders gequoteerd.
In de top 20 krijgen de eerste vier platen allemaal 10 punten.
De volgende vier platen 8, daarna weer 6, vervolgens 4 en tenslotte 2 punten

Het idee was toen dat ikzelf in een spelletje wel vier platen op 1 zou kunnen zetten.
Mijn nummer 1 is verre van 20 keer beter dan mijn nummer 20, al lijkt het mathematisch wel zo.
Maar om met die score succesvol te kunnen werken, heb je minstens een 20tal deelnemers nodig..
En je mag ook niet met teveel platen naar de finale om te veel ex aequo's te vermijden.

Tenslotte: ook al zou je alle albums beluisterd hebben in een spel als dit,
dan nog drijven de platen die je al een heel leven meedraagt bovendrijven.

Dat een pas ontdekt album je top 20 niet haalt, hoeft niet te betekenen dat ze nadien niet kan groeien.

Klopt ja meer classics maken dan kans..maakt t ms minder leuk..
Voor een decenniumtop vind ik je puntentelling iig beter te begrijpen dan een losse jaartop.
