Inderdaad vorig jaar had ik hem nog op 2 staan maar nu verdient hij de no 1 positie in mijn 70's lijst. Simpelweg een enorm verslavend en uniek album dat nooit verveelt!

Ieder jaar maak ik mijn lijstje opnieuw. Ik zoek in MuMe naar mijn beoordelingen in dat decennium. Ik heb eerlijk gezegd zelf niet eens een goed idee wat ik vorig jaar heb ingevuld. Ik weet wel dat de top 4 voor mij voorspelbaar is. Deze staan in beton gegoten op hun troon. Zeker de twee PF albums.

Van dit schitterende decennium had ik zonder enig probleem een top 75 kunnen maken. Maar ik snap dat 30 genoeg is.

De top-12 is ongewijzigd ten opzichte van vorig jaar. Daaronder gebeurt wel het een en ander, maar van een afstandje is het toch een beetje cirkeltjes draaien. Zo komt de tweede Fungus maar weer eens binnen ten koste van een van de vier Genesisalbums (Foxtrot) en wisselt Eloy stuivertje (Silent Cries and Mighty Echoes eruit en Ocean erin; Inside blijft). Verder verschuift een aantal albums een beetje, waarbij de grote stijging van Steeleye Span - Storm Force Ten en de grote daling van Genesis - A Trick of the Tail eruit springen. Inderdaad: nieuwe inzichten uit draaibeurten van het afgelopen jaar.

Viel er dan niks nieuws te ontdekken afgelopen jaar? Nouja, Van Der Graaf Generator bleek met The Quiet Zone / The Pleasure Dome nog wel een van zijn sterkere platen wat achterin de discografie te hebben en de cultklassieker Måltid van Samla Mammas Manna heeft zich eindelijk in aanschaf kunnen verheugen, wat hem de komende tijd wellicht wat meer exposure geeft. Maar het establishment waar nieuwkomers het tegen op moeten nemen is toch wel stevig.
