Je zou denken met 40 nummers genoeg te hebben in een actuele lijst: niets blijkt minder waar. Weer inkorten naar 30 is echt nog een onmogelijkheid.

Foster the People klinkt mij inmiddels als jaren geleden, maar The Sacred Hearts Club uit 2017 is mij niet echt opgevallen. En dus komt hun laatste hit voor mij uit 2014 en de bijbehorende constatering dat de tijd vliegt.

Yak roept hier bij de albumbesprekers van het nieuwe album Pursuit of momentary Happiness wat gemengde gevoelens op. Maar ik ken alleen nog dit nummer van het album en ben daar dik tevreden mee. Prachtige nieuwe single en één van de betere ontdekkingen van dit jaar.

Week 13

Ladytron is dan toch eindelijk van de troon gestoten. Sunday van Foals is de nieuwe lijstaanvoerder, met een beetje hulp van Underworld Verder weer veel nieuwe nummers die binnen komen stormen. Afgelopen weekend werden er ontzettend veel toffe platen/nummers uitgebracht, dus het was moeilijk kiezen tussen de vele kanshebbers. Een aantal zullen maar een weekje moeten wachten.

- Andrew Bird komt binnen met twee prachtige folk/chamber pop nummers van zijn nieuwe plaat, wat mijn eerste kennismaking is. Op zowel Sisyphus als Bloodless is duidelijk het ongelofelijke muzikale talent van deze man te horen. Veel fraaie details sieren de nummers, ben echt zwaar onder de indruk.
- American Football komt met een gevarieerde plaat die uit aardig wat verschillende genres put. Uncomfortably Numb is een erg verslavend emo dreampop nummertje, met gastvocalen van de zangeres van Paramore.
- Yola zorgt voor wat soul in de lijst met Faraway Look. Prachtige stem, zeker als ze in het refrein even haar keel opentrekt.
- March van Wander heb ik uit een lijstje hier opgepikt, meeslepende postrock. Sterke Sigur Rós vibes krijg ik hiervan.
- Tame Impala komt als het goed is deze zomer met een nieuw album, erg veel zin in. De vooruitgeschoven single Patience is fijn en ligt in het verlengde van album Currents, maar kan zich nog niet meten met de toppers van die plaat.

In de slimstream van Shame knalt Talk Show met hun 2de singel, Een vuile gitaar, stuwende bas, stampende drums, zanger met een basstem. Dit alles gecomprimeerd in 2 minuten inclusief break. Fast & Loud.

De nieuwe Tame Impala maakt op eerste gehoor een vlakke indruk, door de nietszeggende zang, maar is instrumentaal toch wel lekker. Vooral de basgitaar en bassynth swingt..

Jawel, opnieuw een liedje van de radio in mijn top 20 binnengekomen. Faraway look viel mij wel op als hij gedraaid werd, maar het kwartje viel pas serieus toen ik hem aandachtig beluisterde via Youtube. Er is dus nog ruimte voor groei.

week 13 van 2019 - 5 weken geleden leerde ik zowel Alex als Skye kennen, nou ja hun singles, en had toen al het idee dat die heel hoog zouden komen. Toen ik m'n lijst maakte bleek toch dat ik Skye veel minder hoog liet binnenkomen dan na eerste keer horen gedacht. Alex stond in week 2 al op 1 maar nu in week 5 blijk toch Skye degene die voorlopig het laatst lacht door Alex naar plaats 2 te verwijzen. Wel opvallend dat nog niemand anders haar ook heeft opgepikt.
Vier binnenkomers... de hoogste zat ik vorige week al over te twijfelen, wel of niet, net 1 of 2x gehoord. Nou inmiddels een week verder en nu knalt Angie McMahon meteen binnen op 5. Pasta is een song die langzaam begint, in de clip ook wat doelloos en verveeld, na een poosje besluit Angie dat het best wat vrolijker mag, ook in de clip, en komt het nummer echt los. Heerlijk en vooral als je er dan een paar dagen later achterkomt dat ze gewoon op BKS speelt dit jaar.
Veel lager dan Anteros, een britse band die op deze single in elk geval muzikaal ergens tussen Desperate Journalist en Sleeper bivakeert. In elk geval past het helemaal in mijn muzikale straatje.
Daar onder Rhinorino, uit Utrecht. De muziek zag ik ergens omschreven als psychedelisch en stoner, nou met nummers van nauwelijks 3 minuten is dat voor mij toch wat anders. Echter het klinkt wel prima en doet me soms wat denken aan Drive Like Maria en dat is zeker niet verkeerd.
Onderin ook nog Swimsuit Competition, fijne naam als je daar info over wilt zoeken... ze komen uit Essex en net als Anteros ook helemaal in mijn straatje.

Vanaf 1989 heb ik vijfentwintig jaar lang wekelijks een top 20 gemaakt voor mezelf en daarna was ik er klaar mee. Door verschillende oorzaken minder tijd om actief (nieuwe) muziek te luisteren. Maar met een half oog toch ook dit topic veel gevolgd sinds vorig jaar en dan kruipt het bloed toch waar het niet gaan kan

Vorige week was ik net te laat (of beter gezegd te vroeg) om UFO van Ellen Allien, opgediept uit het lijstje van Dance Lover, op te nemen. herman wees me er toen op dat Allien alweer een nieuwe had. Gevolg: ze staan allebei in de laatste editie van Binnen De Zestien, samen met nog drie andere nieuwe binnenkomers.
Hoogste hiervan is Barricades van Editors - als clips zouden meewegen in de beoordeling, was dit vast de nieuwe nummer-1. De video valt ook in de smaak bij jonge kijkers, heb ik deze week ondervonden. Verder Weyes Blood, die ik even had gemist maar waar het gelukkig bij "even" is gebleven en Loma, dat in 2018 al een heel fijn album uitbracht en met deze single al net zo fijn terugkomt.

Alex Lahey nog altijd bovenaan, voor de vijfde maal - een evenaring van het record van La Dispute, dat overigens nog altijd op het podium staat.
Op de reservebank het nu al voor heftige discussies zorgende Deutschland van Rammstein - ik heb het normaliter niet zo op de hevig uit de hand gelopen Duitse gimmick, maar met name vanwege de elektronische invloeden is deze best lekker. De heren delen de bank met de nummer-1 van ranja; ik ben lang niet zo enthousiast over haar als over het plaatje van Alex Lahey, maar zal het zeker nog wel een herkansing geven.

Als je wilt kun je je lijsten per week van 1994 nog posten in het topic 1994 - singles, eigen hitlijsten en besprekingen (er vanuit gaande dat je ze nog hebt - al mag nieuw maken ook)
Ik had lijsten gemaakt tussen 1984 en 1993 - vorig jaar begonnen met oude 1993 lijsten posten en nu voor 1994 nieuwe lijsten makend alsof het 1994 is

Bij mij was het de 1e horen meteen bam! wat een geweldig nummer. Daarna nog een paar keer horen en had ik iets van 'alweer, nu weet ik het wel' en nog weer later begon het steeds meer te groeien
Misschien toch wel een groeiplaatje - zeker een herkansing waard al ben ik bevooroordeeld

Heb ik inderdaad ook gelezen en moet nog wel ergens op zolder een doos met schriften hebben liggen
Maar op een aantal goede rocknummers na, zal er rond die vooral veel top 40 meuk in hebben gestaan. Misschien beter om die schriften mooi in de doos te laten

Ach, ik post ook mijn 1988 lijsten, daar staan soms ook dingen in waarvan ik denk 'moe(s)t dat nou' (overigens niet altijd dezelfde als anderen zullen denken of vinden) maar het geeft wel het tijdsbeeld weer Dus kijk maar eens of je toch geen zin hebt Je kunt het hele jaar nog beslissen in te stappen
