Hoe kan het zelfs dat Hospice het niet heeft gehaald!?

Moet zeggen dat ik er dus zodanig vanuit van ging dat ‘ie het wel had gehaald dat ik niet had gedoublecheckt. Wel echt één van de meest toonaangevende indieplaten van dat decennium, heel gek dat hij het niet heeft gehaald inderdaad.

Snap er ook geen bal van 00s is nb de enige decenniumlijst waar ik niet vergat een lijstje in te leveren. jordidj1 en Teunnis zeg er wat van

123poetertjes en ArthurDZ jullie ook

Bloedmooi album, maar had mijn eindlijst niet gehaald. Te hoge concurrentie.

Toch kwam die bij jou ook niet verder dan plek 15 destijds.

Overigens heeft Hospice het van de acht edities 'slechts' de helft van de keren de finale gehaald.

Los van dat toonaangevendheid natuurlijk los staat van subjectieve kwaliteit (The Beatles waren ook toonaangevend maar vind ik grotendeels saai), dat bewijst juist m’n punt toch? The Antlers moeten in mijn lijstje alleen 2x Radiohead, Arcade Fire, Interpol en (als je de definitie van indie heel erg rekt) Liars boven zich dulden en staan daarmee in de top van de indieplaten uit de jaren ‘00 in mijn lijstje.

Behalve dan dat dit geen wedstrijd is voor toonaangevendheid, maar populariteit (anders hadden heel wat 50s-albums wel beter gescoord), noch een wedstrijd voor 00s-albums.

En is Hospice echt zo'n grote indieklassieker? Als het gaat om ontbrekende indie zou ik eerder andere namen noemen: Modest Mouse, Pavement, Yo La Tengo, The Microphones. Maar als je op MuMe kijkt (hoog gemiddelde, 145 in de top 250, zou je idd verwachten dat deze wel bij de 50 beste 00s-platen zou komen.
