Grecio's Top 40 (week 20)

Deze week was wat mij betreft wat rustiger. Mijn discover lijstje bracht me alleen "Pretty Vicious - Cave Song". Wat me een beetje doet denken aan The Hives, maar dan iets minder gepolijst. Gelukkig heb ik dit topic en vond ik nog twee nieuwe nummers voor mijn top 40. Van het lijstje van musician "Loa Loa - Landslide", lekker heavy nummertje. En van het lijstje van Sfeermaker jatte ik "Metronomy - Old Skool", normaal niet mijn smaak muziek, maar dit kan ik zeker wel waarderen. Verder had mijn electronic/pop bandje, 'Girl Friend', een nieuw hitje uit, best geinig, al was het oudere werk beter.

Maar Pretty Vicious is natuurlijk geweldig!
Samen met The Hunna moeten zij nu eindelijk eens met een debuut album komen.

Ik discrimeer niet en mag derhalve graag uit het voorbij Eurovisie Songfestival plukken met Nika Kocharov and Young Georgian Lolitaz. Dan heb ik met dit sympathieke nummer uit Georgië gelijk ook een mooie dosis wereldmuziek binnen gehaald.

Deakin: lid van Animal Collective, al doet ie op de laatste plaat niet mee. Hij komt met zijn eerste solowerk, een uitgesponnen, dromerig en psychedelisch popliedje. Hij lijkt wel (per ongeluk?) een melodie uit Simon & Garfunkel's The Boxer geleend te hebben, maar ach, dat vergeef ik hem.
Dengue Dengue Dengue: een Peruviaans duo dat muziek uit hun eigen land combineert met moderne, elektronische invloeden. Het resultaat is spannend en mysterieus, met bovendien een fijne zangeres eroverheen. En ook hier weer een vreemde clip.
Moony Me: fijne deephouse, en dan niet de poppy hitparadevariant maar deephouse a la Pepe Bradock. Moony Me werd aangeraden door een andere artiest die ik op Facebook volg maar geen idee meer wie. Het nummer heeft een erg warm geluid.
