Tot mijn grote genoegen zie ik ineens overal Grimes - Butterfly in de lijstjes.
Bij mij al de nummer één in november 2015 , nu eindelijk met videoclip.

Maar je bent er niet altijd snel bij. Bij jou zag ik vorige week Machu Picchu van The Strokes, een van mijn favoriete nummers van... 2011.

Normaal gesproken doe ik mijn afrekening op donderdag, maar ik was gisteren simpelweg te lui om een verhaaltje erbij te tikken. Daarnaast was het ook best een drukke week en heb ik ook weinig gericht naar nieuwe nummers kunnen luisteren. De enige nieuwe namen in mijn toplijst komen dan ook doorgestroomd na de maximale drie weken tipafrekening. Die tip is dan wel weer behoorlijk sterk en kan best een bodem leggen voor de afrekening van volgende week.
En een wisseling van de wacht bovenaan; ik ben nog altijd zwaar onder de indruk van Nessi en beloon haar met een nummer 1. Heerlijk herfstnummer.

Ik heb de laatste tijd flink wat gitaarmeisjes en mijn tip opgenomen, hier en daar ook in bandvorm. Het deel dat ook effectief de toptwintig haalt is al wat kleiner, en deze had ik eigenlijk ook al afgeschreven. Afgelopen week merkte ik echter wel dat ie op random momenten mijn hoofd kwam binnenzetten, wat wel een goed teken is. Hij wordt echt steeds leuker.

Röyksopp ft. Susanne Sundfør - Never Ever
Sinds ik CHVRCHES heb ontdekt enkele jaren terug bevalt zoete synthpop me echt prima en Röyskopp beheerst dit trucje ook zeer behoorlijk (sterker nog: ze lopen al jaren langer mee). Susanne is ook dus uiteindelijk moest dit nummer wel in mijn afrekening belanden. Een popliedje van de zuiverste graad met poefpoef-Songfestivalbeats zonder dat het fout wordt, dat is toch wel razend knap.

Je zou bijna vergeten dat dit uit Nederland komt, zo goed is het. Twee jaar terug bliezen de heren me al omver met No Map or Address, dat een paar van mijn favoriete nummers van dat jaar afleverde. Hun nieuwe album heb ik nog niet echt aandachtig kunnen luisteren, maar afgaande op enkele liedjes lijken ze in dezelfde lijn door te gaan. Dit is alvast een heerlijke single. Lekker raggen met een schelle, tegen het vals aanzittende zang.

Black Cab - Uniforms
Mooi donker, stuwend, met synths overgoten nummer met een paar hele toffe loopjes die ook tot dansen uitnodigen.

Coves - You're Evil
Goed, had ik het nou over female fronted bandjes? Hier is er weer één. Een Engels duo van beide genders en een mooi rauw maar wel vol geluid.

Dream Wife - Hey Heartbreaker
Goed, had ik het nou over female fronted bandjes? Hier is er weer één [2]. Een trio, tweemaal Brits en eenmaal IJslands. Wat in dit liedje vooral opvalt zijn de vocalen, die het een heel toffe Patti Smithvibe geven. Zoals ze op hun site zeggen: This ain’t your average house party. Dream Wife invite you to jump into the mosh pit.

Pip Blom - Taxi Driver
Nederlands meisje met een stem die een beetje te lief is en amper de muziek overstemt. Ik vind dat wel iets leuks hebben. Pakkend melodietje ook, en een guitig clipje. Ook deze komt van Sunderland ®.

Zeg, laat mij ook eens de eerste zijn .

14 Hinds, wie valt er niet voor het valse zanggeluid van deze feestende Spaansen. Holograma is een Spaanstalig nummer en een cover wat ze 3 jaar geleden al hebben opgenomen. Het is het enige Spaanstalige nummer dat ze hebben gemaakt en is nu uitgebracht als single. Bovendien te vinden op hun Deluxe-versie van hun debuutalbum.
