Altijd weer leuk om deze te horen.

Begonnen als een eigenzinnige artrock band en uiteindelijk het terrein verlegd naar meer melodieuze poprock. De eigenzinnigheid is in ''78'' nog altijd aanwezig, getuige deze wat neurotische single. De band rond de broers Tim en Neil Finn stoeien hier met new wave. Een stel mafkezen waren het overigens wel ( zie clip.)

Niet helemaal waar, Richard Tandy speelt weliswaar niet mee op het eerste album (wat met de aanwezigheid van Roy Wood meer The Move was dan het nieuwe ELO), maar trad vlak daarna toe tot de band. Je kan hem met een gerust hart toch wel tot de originele bezetting rekenen.
In Mr. Blue Sky heeft hij buiten de toetsenpartijen een grote rol op de vocoder. En heeft momenteel in de live bezetting naast Jeff Lynne een centrale rol in het nieuwe ELO.

divart, ik weet dat Tandy de enige is van de oude bezetting die Lynne nog in de armen sluit.
Ik meen dat een groot deel van de band tot groot ongenoegen van hun voorman E.L.O PART II begon.
Ik zag op YT de recente line-up live en ik heb Tandy niet opgemerkt. Maar dan heb ik het waarschijnlijk niet goed gezien dan.
Tijdens de Zoom optredens, dat waren er niet veel uiteindelijk, was hij in ieder geval heel bepalend.
