Dankzij Hacker Jean Michel Jarre 2 plaatsen gestegen. Ook een record aantal stemmen tot nu toe (23) voor Dury en consorten, maar moeten het uiteindelijk doen met een 21e plek. Nu een band uit Akron(VS) die in 1972 werd opgericht en opvallend goed inspeelde op de new wave. Een kleurrijk gezeldschap en één van de 1e new wave bands die synths gebruikte. In het thuisland populairder dan in Europa, terwijl ze best Europees klinken. De volgende is van het debuutalbum Are We Not Men? A: We Are Devo! Losjes gebaseerd op Chuck Berry's Johnny B Good. Ik mag deze eigenzinnigheid wel.
