Vond de vorige Little Simz die meedeed in dit spel niet zo memorabel, maar deze is vrij tof! Lekker krakerig. Daarnaast ben ik denk ik niet slim genoeg om de grammaticale structuur van “I was just thinking about work the dancefloor” te begrijpen.

Het is juist bewust grammaticaal incorrect gedaan, daarmee zinspelend op de dubbele betekenis van zowel 'about' ('thinking about' vs. 'I'm about to work') en 'work' (als in job vs. 'working the dancefloor'). Verder staat het nummer voor mij vooral op de synth-hook. Als je die niet voelt, snap ik dat je er niet zoveel aan vindt...

Ik wil zo ook nog stemmen.

Ah ik snap hem! Moet wel zeggen dat ik het nog steeds wel een redelijk awkward formulering vind, al is de rest van het nummer best prima.

Snap ik, mijn taalkundige OCD had er in het begin ook moeite mee...

Dit is al het derde Little Simznummer dat meedoet en ook dit vind ik erg sterk. Verder gaan mijn haren ook recht overeind staan bij de grammaticahorror van "About Work The Dancefloor".

Gauw het album eens luisteren mannen. Tien absolute toptracks die een mooi en congruent geheel vormen. Een combinatie van rauw en melodieus met zeer sterke persoonlijke teksten. Voorlopig mijn favoriet van 2019!
