Mooi dat Kirsty toch nog redelijk hoog staat

Wel opvallend van Cocteau Twins... vorig jaar nog met een promo in de top 50 en de echte commerciele single niet eens in de top 50, nu ook weer met een echte single nauwelijks in de top 50. Wat is dat toch wat die promo's zo fascinerend maakt dat de reguliere singles vergeten worden?

Het origineel is van Raff uiteraard. En in de 12" versie helemaal geweldig. Afgelopen zomervakantie heb ik 4 nummers voortdurend op repeat gehad en dit was er een van. Volgend jaar een andere heel hoog... en in 86 weer italo.
Erotic City heb ik even gemist als b-kant, anders had die mijn top 50 nog wel kunnen halen.

Mijn lijst. Soms weet je een nummer 20 eerder dan een nummer 3 of 4 en schuif je met de plaatsen 15-25 heen en weer waarbij die 20 intact blijft. Zo ook dit jaar.
Verder is de nummer 4 zowel letterlijk als figuurlijk een dissonant in het lijstje, maar het is een erg gaaf nummer en zoveel singles brengt de band in de 80s ook niet uit dus dan maar lekker hoog tussen de top 40 pop in
Hoewel top 40? Geen van m'n top 6 heeft dat gehaald in Nederland (en nummer 7 ook pas veel later). Daarmee is de nostalgiefactor toch redelijk beperkt gebleven.
