Soms plaats ik hier tracks van albums die ik nog niet heb gehoord om mezelf te attenderen om het te checken. Dat valt soms vies tegen, maar deze van Decline of the I vind ik echt fantastisch. Dit is helemaal mijn ding! Doorleefde mistroostige en licht symfonische post-black à la The Great Old Ones en Downfall of Gaia. Deze ga ik morgen maar eens volledig beluisteren.

Ik lees The Great Old Ones en Downfall of Gaia in de post van Don Cappuccino. Tuurlijk ben ik dan hooked!

Dit klinkt erg lekker. Decline of the I durft er striemend tegenaan te gaan, maar bouwt ook erg fraaie rustpunten in. Het komt de dynamiek van de song alleen maar ten goede, en die symfonische tierlantijntjes hier en daar geven het geheel extra cachet. Ik ben dan ook erg benieuwd naar het volledige album.

Prima, maar 1 nummer is genoeg: 6,5

Dit doet me behoorlijk denken aan Cattle Decapitation. De zanger is overduidelijk door Travis Ryan geïnspireerd. Ik vind dit wel gaaf. Vooral nu Cattle Decapitation veel melodieuzer is geworden word ik hier erg blij van.
