Heb niet echt favoriete nummers van Elvis Costello, niet die er écht uitspringen tenminste, dus gewacht op de eindlijst. Fijne nummers. Zoals ik eerder schreef draai ik drie albums met regelmaat, maar daar is This Year's Model toch wel bijgekomen. Die heb ik toch wel te veel verwaarloosd denk ik en deze week tweemaal geluisterd. Armed Forces blijft mijn favoriete album en levert (daarom) mijn nummer 1.

McCartney en Costello schreven een paar nummers samen die zijn terug te vinden
op zowel Elvis' Spike (1989) als op Pauls (My Brave Face) Flowers in the Dirt (1989) album.

Costello schreef trouwens ook een nummer (The Commedians)
voor het come-back album Mystery Girl (1989) van Roy Orbison.

"Titelsong" uit de oudste doos zonder Attractions: My Aim Is True (1977).
Een song die aantoonde dat er een songwriter schuilging achter de bebrilde angy young man.

De nummer 1 van divart en remcodulac.



Geschreven naar aanleiding van de Falkland oorlog.
Van Punch the Clock (1983) waarvan het geëlimineerde Everyday I Write the Book de hitsingle was.

Niemands nummer 1.



Terug te vinden op elke punk-verzamelaar.
Doet denken aan Joe Jackson met die knallende drumvellen en bassnaren.
En natuurlijk de reggae-lik (The Police) en een heerlijk keyboardje.

Toegegeven, hij deed het niet goed, maar Man Out of Time is wel degelijk van Imperial Bedroom.
