Punten van Casartelli moeten er nog bij..

Met stip op 1: Sanktuarium van Quidam. Tering, wat een opening van deze Polen op hun debuut plaat die in sloeg als een bom. Een juweeltje dat zich wat mij betreft mag scharen tussen de allerbeste prog parels. Bij de overstuurde openingsakkoorden was ik nog wat vertwijfeld over wat dit zou brengen, maar zodra die gitaar inkomt staat het kippenvel over m'n hele lijf en dat gaat niet meer weg tot dit kunstwerkje is afgelopen. Die gitaar raakt me (Maciek Meller weet hier een toon en emotie neer te zetten die niet onderdoet voor grootmeesters als Latimer, Hackett en Gilmour), de zang raakt me (en toen had ik Emilia nog niet eens gezien..), de klarinet, de fluit, de cello... alles staat op z'n plek en wordt prachtig omlijst door de overige instrumentatie. Quidam stapt met hun allereerste song van hun allereerste plaat regelrecht de eregalerij van de prog binnen en Sanktuarium nestelt zich sindsdien in mijn top 10.
