Vind ik een heel rare uitslag. Dat Amorphis (mijn nominatie) niet veel punten haalt, was te verwachten maar vind ik desalniettemin jammer. Het is me de laatste tijd opgevallen dat veel nummers 'in hetzelfde straatje' zitten. Zeker als je een ladder of vijf op een dag beluistert (wegens tijdsgebrek andere dagen) valt dit op. Het zit allemaal wat in hetzelfde stramien, zelfde tempo, zelfde gevoel ... Er gebeurt weinig onverwachts. Nu goed, het iets stevigere materiaal heeft in de voorbije ladders meestal niet de hoofdvogel afgeschoten, dus niet echt een verrassing dat deze Finnen dit evenmin deden.
Veel onverwachter is dat Genesis hier de duimen moet leggen tegenover materiaal dat eigenlijk nog maar met moeite aan de enkels er van komt. Volgens mijn bescheiden mening uiteraard.
