Dit zegt mijn glazen bol :/).......of was het een fata morgana of wellicht wishful thinking??

Zal er nog een plekje vrij zijn voor Hear That Sound? Zou vrij verrassend zijn; top 10 wellicht te hoog maar buiten de top 75 zou ik onterecht vinden. Heerlijk nummer!

Hear That Sound komt echt nog wel voorbij; ik kan mij niet voorstellen dat deze totaal genegeerd wordt.

Ik hoopte op Jan's Song, maar die zal niet meer komen.

Natuurlijk komt de heerlijke afsluiter van het heerlijke album X hier voorbij. Hear That Sound is een uitermate fijn werkje van onze Australische vrienden. Een liedje met een redelijk groot gebaar en een killer refrein wat het live ook goed doet (zie onder). Een soort galmen voor gevorderden zal ik maar zeggen. Het is nummer wat altijd kan en bij mij in ieder geval ook altijd zorgt voor een goed gevoel.

Gelukkig komt ie dan nu maar pureshores Deze kraker van jewelste was de 3e single van hun obscure album Kick B side was Guns in the Sky, op het album ook samen met Sensation de one two punch kickstart. Deze single behaalde slechts de magere 18e plaats in ons funky landje, mooi getal, maar toch
New Sensation stond vroeger al op die vermaarde jeugdcassettebandjes en was eigenlijk al snel favoriet door de energie die in deze track zat en nog steeds zit. Ik heb m een tijdje minder gewaardeerd, maar die fase is definitief voorbij
INXS is vermaard om die heerlijke korte repeterende riffjes. En die in deze song is wel heerlijk rinkelend en rollend, een perfecte start van een song. Rake klappen van de drums en Michael is goed en stevig bij stem hier Funky basloopjes. Coupletten en refreinen even sterk ook, kortom niks mis mee. Geen enkele reden voor wie dan ook om dit een minder nummer te vinden, en voor mij een nummer 1 kandidaat

Naar dit nummer is ook hun live album genoemd, en ik denk dat deze er live ook echt gelijk in knalt.
De hoofdrol bij die versie is weg gelegd voor de saxofoon.
Het spelgenot straalt er van af.
Maar hoort deze zo hoog in de lijst?
Eigenlijk niet.

Hun beste song...period! Toen het Welcome album uitkwam werd ik er door weggeblazen en dat is nog steeds zo. Een mooie eenheid met Heaven Sent ervoor, de songs gaan naadloos in elkaar over. Dit is hardrock INXS. Dit is een atypische INXS song. Ik hou sowieso van duistere drijvende tracks, nou dit is er zo een Een donker intro, gevolgd door een heerlijk dreigende bas, Michael die zingt alsof ie outer space komt en dan gauw gaan we full blown loss en dat stopt ook niet meer, bombast hier en daar, mooi pianowerk, schurende galmende glinsterende gitaren en zelfs spoken word alsof je in een helicopter zit en vocaal begeleid wordt over een soort golfcourse ofzo, I love it . Mijn onbetwiste nummer 1
