En dan nog de "Dukes of Hazzard" theme song. Tja, zwaar jeugdsentiment, dus die moet wel een aantal weekjes meedraaien.

Grappig. Het nummer viel bij het beluisteren van de nieuwe binnenkomers in de tipparade ook mij op. Ik raadpleeg dan altijd 45cat voor de titel van het b-kantje en ontdekte dat het nummer al op 9 februari in Nederland was uitgebracht. 45cat geeft geen Italiaanse release, maar wel een Spaanse uit 1979. Die is bij herman niet onopgemerkt gebleven, want het nummer haalde vorig najaar zijn tiplijst. Ongetwijfeld zal ik het nummer toen ook al hebben beluisterd. Ik haalde in die tijd regelmatig nummers uit zijn tiplijst die bij hem de eindlijst niet haalden (mijn hoogste binnenkomer van deze week heb ik ook bij hem vandaan). Het zal de aankondiging van zomers weer zijn dat het kwartje bij mij nu wel valt. Net zoals het in 1980 pas na een half jaar de tipparade haalde.
Verder heb ik deze week binnenkomers die bij diverse panelleden al wat langer in de lijst staan.

De top 20 wordt geënterd door wat nummers die net even wat meer draaibeurten nodig hadden, met name die van Toyah en The Durutti Column. De een is tamelijk hysterisch en de ander juist opvallend dromerig en rustig, maar beide zijn op hun manier erg goed.

De hoogste nieuwe is voor Easy Going (die ik zelf steeds verwarde met Still Going, een DFA-discoding uit de 00's). Fear is een fijne space disco track en een voorloper op de italo disco.

Freddie Aguilar is typisch zo'n plaat die ik ken omdat ie hier wel eens langskomt in topics. Geen nummer dat je ergens anders ooit hoort. Ik ben het wel gaan waarderen in ieder geval, gewoon een mooi ontroerend nummer al versta ik er niets van.

Peter Gabriel is zo'n artiest waar ik meestal niets mee heb. Mooie stem, maar muzikaal heb ik er zelden een klik mee. Het album uit dit jaar komt hier ook niet verder dan 3*. Maar ergens vind ik het wel een sympathiek figuur en het onderwerp hier is natuurlijk ook bijzonder, daarom blijf ik het al weken draaien en nu is in ieder geval de top 40 gehaald.

The Beat en The Selecter tappen uit hetzelfde 2tone-vaatje. Leuke nummers, al hebben ze beide (veel) beter gedaan.

Glenn Branca was een avant-gardistische componist die veel met gitaren deed en een sleutelfiguur was in de Amerikaanse No Wave-scene. En inspirator voor latere bands als Sonic Youth. Heb ooit een fantastisch concert van hem gezien op een festival en ben later nog eens speciaal voor een optreden naar Parijs gegaan, waar hij zijn laatste symfonie opvoerde met 100 gitaristen. Niet lang daarna overleed hij helaas.
Dit nummer is een vroege release en eigenlijk wel een goede voorbode van zijn latere werk, hoewel dat nog veel beter werd.

Zou vigil nog een lijstje hebben of is er wellicht sprake van vakantie?

Er kan deze week niet al te veel waarde worden gehecht aan de punten die worden genoemd. Als er eens een user een weekje afwezig is zijn er ook altijd 210 punten minder te verdelen.
Het enige dat kan worden gezegd is dat David Bowie hard op weg is naar de 200-punten grens en dat is echt onvoorstelbaar.

Het kan een andere top 100 opleveren, eentje gebaseerd op behaalde punten in plaats van de stand in de lijst.
Het heeft een paar belangrijke nadelen. Eén daarvan is dat het alleen werkt als dezelfde users het hele jaar actief zijn. Users die er bij komen of afvallen is direct van invloed op het totale aantal punten.
Een ander belangrijk aspect is dat het een 'som der delen' berekening is. Persoonlijke favorieten die (helaas) niet door de anderen wordt gedeeld, halen niet de top 20 en dus ook niet de eindlijst.

Waar zou het om gaan, vraag je je misschien af. Nou, ik heb inmiddels een interessant lijstje van users met een favoriete nummer 1 waarvan het nummer onze gezamenlijke lijst nooit heeft gehaald. Denk maar niet, dat je daar alleen in staat, het overkomt de meesten.

Wat anders is, dat de wijzigingen vrij minimaal lijken. Alleen D.I.S.C.O. van Ottawan komt leuk binnen en ook verder natuurlijk The Jam, maar die slaan sinds 1977 onze lijst nooit over dus dat is geen verassing.

Dat nummer viel me toen inderdaad wel op en het kwam me ergens ook wel bekend voor. Door het bericht van Gerdav vermoed ik dat ik als kind de Boney M-versie wel eens heb gehoord.

Het was eigenlijk de bedoeling dat ik de nummer één hits van users die niet onze gezamenlijke lijst zouden halen bij het jaar overzicht zou betrekken.

Nee, dat verneem ik nu net van jou, hier. Ik was toen al even afgehaakt qua interesse in de top 40, etcetera. Het album The Naked Truth heb ik rond 1994 gekocht, dat sprak me wel aan. Maar van singles, op Another 45 Miles en het nog immer geweldige I Can't Sleep Without You na dan, had ik geen weet.

Om Je dan even helemaal op de hoogte te brengen, deze akoestische versie kwam in 1993 als derde single van Naked Truth in de Top 40 en wist daar vier weken te blijven met een 30ste plek als hoogste positie
