En dank uiteraard allemaal maar weer voor de mega inspanningen die door iedereen is geleverd, 50tracks, ranboy, Martial, johan de witt en Poeha.
LucM natuurlijk voor de bespreking van de Tipparade.
De op één na laatste lijst van 1975. Ik ben inmiddels wel toe aan een nieuw jaar en een mooie afsluiting van 1975.
Veel nieuwe entrees hebben we niet, wel Eric Carmen. Een mooi voorbeeld waar de kracht van velen kunnen leiden tot een mooie notering. 10 in onze gezamenlijke lijst terwijl het nummer eigenlijk bij niemand (al) in de Top 10 staat.
Rare Nederlandse hoes, overigens. Als je helemaal niets meer kon verzinnen, zelfs geen foto van de artiest weet te achterhalen, dan kom je met een hoes met alleen maar letters. Is me dat treurig.
Ik heb zelf overigens een Franse All By Myself, met een rood hoesje dat ik verder zelden tegen kom:

Zo alvast mijn lijst, dan kan ik morgen mijn Top 100 plaatsen.
Tegelijkertijd wilde ik ook even experimenteren, of ik vijftig nummers kon terug dringen naar 40 om zo heel wat werk te besparen.
Dat betekent tegelijkertijd geen schokkende zaken inzake nieuwe binnenkomers, of het moest zijn de single Ommadawn van Mike Oldfield, uitgebracht in Frankrijk in plaats van In Dulci jubilo omdat Fransen nu eenmaal graag eigenwijs zijn.
Ik heb daar op youtube naar gezocht maar het niet gevonden. Maar ingewikkeld is het niet, het draait om de laatste 3,5 minuut van kant 1 van het album Ommadawn, dus zo'n beetje op 15,5 minuut van het album.
Om het makkelijk te maken!

George Baker Selection - Morning Sky
Sloeg blijkbaar de tipparade over. Een doorzichtige en flauwe poging om het succes van Paloma Blanca te herhalen.

Het totaal aantal nummers dat in mijn Top 20 terecht is gekomen is uiteindelijk 235 geworden.
Ja, Bohemian rhapsody was, zeker ook al in die tijd, de sensatie van het jaar. Ik ben het dus ook eens met de conclusie van LucM. Uiteindelijk had Queen nog wel de laatste week van het jaar nodig om in punten voorbij Rod Stewart te komen.
Ook in onze gezamenlijke lijst staat Bohemian rhapsody inmiddels 7 weken bovenaan.
Het blijft natuurlijk een greep uit een heel jaar, met heel duidelijk afgetekend een week 1 en een week 52 of 53.
Daarbij blijven er natuurlijk nummers die zowel in het ene jaar als in een volgend jaar genoteerd hebben gestaan en dus ook nummers die niet het volledige jaar mochten afmaken.
Wat ik ook voor het eerst vond opvallen, was dat er nogal wat erkende namen van bands waren, die wat door de mand begonnen te vallen. In die zin, dat een single niet meer automatisch een hit werd, in sommige gevallen zelfs puntloos, zoals recent nog Squeeze box van The Who.
Dat gat wordt dan weer keurig opgevuld door andere artiesten met prima songs. Niet al teveel door disco-artiesten, wat in aantallen makkelijk had gekund, maar ik tel er slechts een vijftal in mijn lijst.
Desondanks, was het muzikaal een prima jaar, meer dan voldoende aanleiding om 1976 verder te gaan ontdekken!

Het jaarlijkse punten tellen is weer achter de rug en daar is deze jaarlijst uitgekomen en waar Galaxy-Lin met Long Hot Summer de glorieuze winnaar is geworden.
Galaxy-Lin opgericht door Robbie van Leeuwen (Shocking Blue) in 1973 en kende overigens geen lang bestaan, want in 1976 komt er alweer einde aan deze band waar Long Hot Summer het enige nummer is dat de Top 40 haalde met als hoogste notering de 16e plaats.
Na Galaxy-Lin gaat Robbie van Leeuwen zich bezig houden met een nieuwe band Mistral geheten, maar daarover in 1977 meer …….
De 2e plaats is ingeruimd voor Earth & Fire met Only Time Will Tell die altijd een graag geziene gast zijn in de Top 40 en ook in deze PolderPoplijst, ook Thanks For The Love staat in de Top 10 van deze jaarlijst en staat overigens ook nog steeds genoteerd in de reguliere lijst.
Only Time Will Tell was overigens de langst genoteerde single in de lijst van het afgelopen jaar met een totaal van 12 weken.
Vanaf 1976 worden de hits toch iets minder groot voor Earth & Fire, maar dat wordt helemaal rechtgetrokken in het jaar 1979 met een behoorlijke koerswijziging waar de echte die hard fan niet altijd even blij mee was, zachtjes uitgedrukt
Op nummer 3 komen wel Alquin met Weelchair Groupie tegen een band die het meer van hun LP's moest hebben dan van hun singles.
Waar de singles de Top 40 niet haalden deden de LP's het in 1975 en 1976 meer dan verdienstelijk.
In november is overigens de cd-box The First Five van Alquin verschenen met daarin u raad het al de eerste 5 LP's van deze band, voor wie nog niks heeft van deze band is dit een leuk instappertje en is deze cd-box o.a. verkrijgbaar bij bol.com (wat leuk)
Het Nederpopjaar van 1975 geef ik zelf een 6,5 met hier en daar wat echte uitschieters, maar over het algemeen toch wat aan de degelijke kant.

Was het nog maar zo'n feest
Onder het motto gelukkig hebben we de foto's nog en in dit geval de klassenfoto's blijkt dat inderdaad ja.
Maar ook vooral in de tijd dat Nederland, Nederland nog was en dat men nog gewoon Sinterklaas kon vieren om eens iets te noemen en ja de tijden veranderen dat weet ik ook wel, maar wel helaas in dit geval …..

Return to fantasy de terecht winnaar, want van dit stel staat hij het hoogste in mijn top 200 Aller Tijden, en ook toen in 1975 had ik hem in mijn top 10 al op 1 gezet, ook al was het maar heel klein top 40-hitje. Weliswaar staat The gates of delirium van Yes een stuk hoger in mijn top 200, maar Soon is er natuurlijk maar een klein stukje van, dus dan komt hij ook wat lager uit..
Verder veel rock, symfo, maar ook Franse chanson, pop, soul en disco en Nederlandstalig, maar alles wel op kwaliteit geselecteerd.

Return to fantasy de terecht winnaar, want van dit stel staat hij het hoogste in mijn top 200 Aller Tijden, en ook toen in 1975 had ik hem in mijn top 10 al op 1 gezet, ook al was het maar heel klein top 40-hitje. Weliswaar staat The gates of delirium van Yes een stuk hoger in mijn top 200, maar Soon is er natuurlijk maar een klein stukje van, dus dan komt hij ook wat lager uit..
Verder veel rock, symfo, maar ook Franse chanson, pop, soul en disco en Nederlandstalig, maar alles wel op kwaliteit geselecteerd

Ivm de voorbereiding van de gezamenlijke lijst en de Top 100 van 1975 moet het toch mogelijk zijn voor 20.00 nog met jullie lijst te komen, Poeha en johan de witt?
