Er wordt in de MuMeladder wel eens gemopperd over Veronicasering. Over onze hoogste binnenkomer zullen die mensen weer niet te spreken zijn. In mijn eigen lijstje is het ook de hoogste binnenkomer.
Ondertussen missen The Beatles de unieke kans om bij alle 3 de panelleden tegelijk op nummer 1 te staan.

Wat is veronicanisering?
Dat we platen kiezen die veel door Veronica gedraaid zijn? Kortom overbekende nummers waardoor wellicht onbekende pareltjes blijven liggen?

Of is het dat we 20 plaatjes in een uur willen draaien waardoor dit nummer van meer dan 5 minuten in de singlerelease verknipt wordt tot een nummer van minder dan 4 minuten?
Daar is het geplaatste nummer dan ook een voorbeeld van.
Zo kan je de top 40 dan in 2 uur afdraaien.

Ik zie nu pas dat je het woord verhaspeld hebt. Ik dacht even dat ik het zelf ook verhaspeld had, maar dat is niet het geval. Best een lastig woord dat veronicasering.

Alleen die eer komt mij niet toe.
Toen ik op dat laddertopic ging zoeken kreeg ik bij veronicasering 0 resultaten. Die van Gretz kwam er niet uit omdat het een image betreft.
Bij veronicanisering kreeg ik er 2. El Ninjo en Luigi.
Toen dacht ik, dan zal Justus het wel weer verhaspeld hebben.

Een trieste cover door the FBB van James Carr als hoogste nieuwkomer. James komt zelf met een vrolijker nummer binnen.
Verder die andere James die weer eens met een nieuwe zak binnenkomt. The popcorn is zelf al wat ouder en deze stijger (vanaf 47) staat al een tijdje in de lijst van herman.
Verder psychedelische rock op 27, gospel pop op 33, soul op 34, funk op 36 en bubblegum pop op 32, .

Een bubbling under ook dit keer met daarin ook veel nieuwkomers.
Ik ben doorgegaan tot nummer 72 en niet omdat de jaren 70 bijna beginnen.
Er staat op 72 een guilty pleasure die ik woordelijk kan meezingen en die mij de liefde voor de muziek uit het begin van de 20e eeuw heeft bijgebracht.

De top 40 zal de plaat waarschijnlijk niet halen gezien de concurrentie maar de Alberti's verslaan wel The Steve Miller Band met Little Girl, 49th Blue Streak met Foxy Lady, David Ruffin met I'm So Glad I Fell For You en Magna Carta met Romeo Jack die nog weer lager staan.
De Van der Graaf Generator met Afterwards komt bij mij in december uit.

Rustig weekje qua nieuwe binnenkomers. Ik heb momenteel te weinig tijd om echt goed voor al het 'nieuws' te gaan zitten, wellicht dat ik daardoor ook vatbaarder ben voor een smartlap als Reflections Of My Life. Voorheen deed dat nummer me niet zoveel, maar de laatste weken ben ik het wel gaan waarderen.

Verder realiseer ik me nu pas dat ik liefst 3 Beatles-covers laat binnenkomen. Blijkbaar grijp ik in drukke periodes ook terug op vertrouwd en bekend.

Twee panelleden steunen de hoogste binnenkomer, maar zij verschillen van mening over welk nummer het mooiste is. De A-kant staat hierboven. Ik prefereer de B-kant. Het lijkt wel een treinnummer en is dus misschien ook iets voor het panellid dat de A-kant op 26 heeft staan. De kat verschijnt pas op het eind.

Dit nummer stond er bij mij al van de zomer in.
Heeft het zo lang op je tiplijst gestaan of had je de releasedatum later dan mij?

Ik zie nu dat ie ook bij mij al heeft gechart, begin september. Ben hem weer opnieuw tegengekomen, wellicht via de Engelse releases, en was blijkbaar alweer vergeten dat ie al in mijn lijst had gestaan. Ik kon dat lange tijd wel goed onthouden, maar de laatste maanden niet meer zo.

We zijn er om elkaar te helpen, toch? Daar worden die lijstjes ook beter van.

Maar ik kan er deze week niet omheen met twee nieuwe Nederlandse binnenkomers met als hoogste "Earth and fire". Een elementaire band die allerlei elementen verwerkt in hun nummer.

nieuw:
Dik 15 jaar geleden ontdekte ik White Stripes' I Think I Smell A Rat en ik vond dat nummer geweldig en draaide het helemaal stuk. Niet wetende dat het complete intro gewoon van Earth & Fire's Seasons is overgenomen. Ik vind het een mooi eerbetoon en uiteindelijk Seasons ook een nog beter nummer. Jammer dat ik de nationaliteiten van mijn hitsingles niet bijhoudt, maar dit moet toch zeker in mijn single top 10 (zo niet top 3) van de 60s staan.

Een stuk lager komt Rod Stewart binnen. Een artiest die ik eigenlijk leerde kennen in zijn nadagen, waardoor ik er nooit van onder de indruk was. Maar heb toch wel een licht zwak voor hem gekregen de afgelopen jaren en daar profiteert hij nu van. Misschien dat ik me de komende jaren dan toch eens meer in zijn 60s/70s werk ga verdiepen.

Het duet van Marvin & Tammi was gek genoeg eerst een hit in het VK en later pas in de VS. Beetje zoet wereldverbeteraarsnummer, maar uiteindelijk toch vooral lief en charmant.

Laura Nyro's Time and Love is voor mij wel een oorwurm, mooie singersongwritermuziek met piano. En verder lossen mijn twee favoriete Braziliaanse artiesten elkaar af. Ook hier valt nog genoeg te ontdekken gelukkig.

Wegens drukte op mijn werk en ladderweekend beperk ik me tot een TOP20.

Ik lees de stukjes van herman zeer vaak met plezier.
In zijn RYM singles top die herman afgelopen mei in het topic "singles top 20" van 1969 inleverde stonden Earth and Fire nog op nr. 32 in het jaaroverzicht.
Dus is er sprake van een hele mooie opmars van Jerney en haar mannen.

Ik ben een liefhebber van het materiaal van componist George Kooijmans (van the Golden Earring). Hij heeft zowel "Seasons" als "Another 45 miles" in elkaar gezet. En hij heeft Earth and Fire ontdekt. George staat met zijn composities bij mij op 26 en 17.

Het werd later uitgebracht in de VS.
Marvin heeft ooit beweerd dat hij dit duet niet meer met Tammi heeft gezongen maar dat hij het met Valerie Simpson heeft gedaan. Valerie heeft het later altijd ontkend en ik geloof haar want haar stem klinkt anders.Maar helemaal zeker zullen we het nooit weten want Tammi was in ieder geval al ziek en zwak toen het werd opgenomen.
De wereld is een tranentrekker. Want met Tammi ging het daarna nog verder bergafwaarts vanaf december 1969. Ze werd steeds zieker, kon vanaf januari 1970 niet meer lopen, vanaf februari raakte ze in een coma en in maart overleed ze. Direct daarna werd de single uitgebracht in de VS. Maar ik kies voor de Engelse single en ik kies er ook voor dat Tammi nog samen met Marvin staat, bij mij op 38.

Verder werden in mijn muzieknaslagwerken (bijvoorbeeld Oor's popencyclopedie) van eind jaren 70 mijn hoogste twee binnenkomers afgeschilderd als zonderlinge kluizenaars. Norman zou zich alleen nog met zijn kippen bemoeien op een boerderij in Californië en Sly zat zwaar aan de drugs.

In ieder geval leven ze nog in 2019 terwijl de rest van mijn nieuwkomers, BB King (21), Marvin Gaye (38), Tammi Terrel (38) en Joe South (27) al jaren "geesten in de lucht" zijn.

Norman en Sly duiken nog geregeld vooral rond Los Angeles op.
Norman trad er dit jaar nog op.

En Sly gaat er dit jaar nog optreden.

Ik hoop dat Sly zijn key-board dit keer goed aan de praat krijgt.

Inmiddels lijken beiden inmiddels uiterlijk sterk op de geesten uit Dickens Christmas Coral.

In mijn tekst was helaas een cruciaal stukje weggevallen. Ik bedoelde single top 10 van Nederlandse artiesten. Ik zal eens kijken of dat nog na te gaan is de komende 2 weken...

Wist trouwens niet dat George Kooymans hier iets mee van doen had, maar dat spreekt wel erg voor hem. Another 45 Miles blijft helaas nog even buiten de lijst...

En mooi verhaal over de doden/levenden... ik zag een jaar of 10 geleden Sly Stone voorbij komen in een documentaire en dat was toch wel een triest stukje waarin hij vrij leeg en onsympathiek overkwam. Verbaast me wel een beetje dat hij nog overeind staat na al dat drugsgebruik.

Sly & The Family Stone scoren de hoogste nieuwe binnenkomer deze week. Geweldig nummer en hier viel ook een stukje jeugdsentiment op zijn plaats. 30 jaar geleden vond ik Rhythm Nation 1814 een geweldige hit van Janet Jackson en pas grofweg 20 jaar later ontdekte ik dat de riff daarvan is gesampled uit dit nummer van Sly cs.

Verder vind ik de song van Linda van Dyck wel opmerkelijk. Ooit kreeg ik bij een popquiz de vraag welke bekende Nederlandse actrice een bepaalde hit had gescoord. Ik dacht Linda te herkennen, maar kende haar alleen van muziek en gokte dus maar iets anders.... Later begreep ik dat eigenlijk iedereen Linda van Dyck vooral kent als actrice en de meeste mensen niet weten dat ze ook een blauwe maandag muziek heeft gemaakt. Het viel me ook op dat LucM dit nummer in de voorloper van dit topic een 3 gaf. Schrikbarend laag. Het statige refrein doet me erg denken aan veel nummers op het laatste album van Weyes Blood, voor mij een van de beste albums van 2019.

Ik ken haar vooral als de ex van Justus18.
