De nieuwkomers:
11 Loser van Beck kwam al in maart 1993 uit maar flopte en gaat in december 1993 in de VS in de herkansing. Ik kies voor deze Amerikaanse release die volgende maand ook een hitnotering aldaar gaat opleveren.
16 Tree house van het album "Big letter day" bevalt mij na 25 jaar beter dan destijds. Hun "I'm allowed" vind ik nog beter maar die komt bij mij pas in maart 1994 uit.
17 James met Laid is voor mij een grote ontdekking dit jaar. Deze heb ik pas in 2018 leren kennen. Een maand geleden stond deze ook al in mijn top 20 dus het betreft een re-entry. Aan deze slowburner warm ik mij al 8 weken en dat komt binnen mijn hitlijst uiterst weinig voor dat die dan ook nog weer stijgt.
18 Weer een track van Come on feel the Lemon heads. De vorige "It's about time" is deze week verdwenen. Het album staat deze week nr. 1 in het gedrukt exemplaar van de Mega Top 50 in de Top 30 van "de scherpe kant van platenland".
19 Ooit door Ego Trip's Book of Rap Lists nr. 3 gekozen als hip hop nummer van 1993. Nr. 1 was voor Dr. Dre Nothin but the G thang. Die stond er bij mij al eind 1992 in. Ook de nummer 2 "Protect ya neck"had ik in december 1992 al in mijn lijstje. Dus dan is "Come clean" eigenlijk de nr. 1 is van 1993 in Ego Trip's Book of Rap Lists.
Volgende week kom ik met mijn eigen jaarlijstje over 1993.

Een maagdelijk (hoewel) nieuw jaar ligt er weer voor ons open. Extra lang, 53 weken, want de Nederlandse, Engelse en Amerikaanse hitlijsten verschenen allemaal weer op 01-01-1994.

En de toon voor dit jaar is natuurlijk gelijk weer gezet, met Oasis op 1. Ik denk niet, dat de band dit jaar valt te vermijden. En gelukkig maar.
Mick Jagger klinkt gewoon als de Rolling Stones, dat mag niet vreemd heten.

Ik weet niet of je de lijsten van toen post of nieuwe lijsten maakt, ik dacht het eerste maar hoe zit je dan met de weeknummers van 1994?
Woensdag 2-1 (of donderdag afhankelijk van hoeveel tijd ik heb) is week 1 al, wanneer komt jouw week 1? Ik kan ook gewoon je laatst geposte lijst nemen.
Dan telt je week 52 mee met week 1 en daarna zien we wel hoe je in de pas loopt

Het zijn lijsten van 'toen'. Week 52 is mijn top 100 van 27 december 1993. De volgende is week 1 van 1994 van 3 januari en die post ik zaterdag of zondag. Voor de gezamenlijke lijst van week 1 kan je dus beter mijn week 52 nemen. Het lijkt er op dat ik komend jaar een week uit de pas ga lopen

De laatste lijst van 1993. Mijn top 40 is altijd gedateerd op de woensdag van destijds, toen maakte ik hem. In 1993 is het weeknummer 914, ik begon niet elk jaar opnieuw te tellen .

Blind Melon is de laatste nummer 1, maar zowel Kate Bush als Aerosmith dringen nu wel erg hard aan.

Vier binnenkomers slechts, het is natuurlijk een singleluwe tijd. Op 31 een fraaigezongen soulballad, A whole new world, afkomstig uit Aladdin (al is het geloof ik een cover, niet de originele titelsong). Het is mij opgevallen dat ik gewoonlijke de enige ben met dit soort songs (en ook bij mij zijn ze niet erg dominant), misschien verandert het nog eens een beetje...

Op 32 bewijst Enigma geen eendagsvlieg te zijn, want na Sadeness scoort hij met Return to innocence weer een grote hit. Het is weer een mengelmoes van 'wereld'invloeden, Indiaanse gezangen, kalmerende toetsen, maar ook een discobeat en vrouwelijke vocalen. Erg handig gemaakt, het luistert lekker weg, maar het heeft ook wel iets geproduceerds, iets neps.

Op 35 onze vrienden The Lemonheads met alweer een lekker in het gehoor liggend alternatief gitaarliedje.

En op 36 de te vroeg gestorven Michael Jackson met Gone too soon. In de jaren 90 haalde hij met zijn meeste singles mijn top 40 niet meer, maar Gone too soon lukt het nog net, al is het sentimentaliteitsgehalte wel erg hoog.

Dank je... het lijkt er op dat jij ook een week gaat achterlopen door die onhandige jaarwisseling.
Op zich maakt het ook weinig uit of je nou een lijst nummer 1 of week 1 noemt; uiteindelijk gaat het toch om lijsten die gepubliceerd zijn tussen twee opvolgende gezamenlijke.

Hoezo een week achter? Ik neem aan dat je mijn lijst van 29-12-1993 meeneemt voor de gezamenlijke van 2 januari 1994? Dan zit-ie toch in dezelfde week; zo was het afgelopen jaar ook. De meeste deelnemers plaatsen hun lijst in het weekend en die lijsten gingen mee voor de woensdag-lijst, net als de mijne.

Mijn laatste was 51/52 dus ik begin met week 1 1994 door te tellen.
Dit gaat interessant worden want 1994 is mijn met gemak minste jaar van de 90's muzikaal dus hoe we dat op de been gaan houden wordt nog wat.

Veel te ontdekken dan misschien? 1994 was zoals ik al eerder gezegd heb voor mij denk ik het beste jaar uit de beste periode van de muziek...

Die beste periode is, uiteraard, 10 tot 5 jaar hiervoor al geweest
Maar 1994 sla ik ook niet echt hoog aan, alhoewel er elk jaar wel weer pareltjes worden voortgebracht.
