Goed dat je dit post. Ik was in de veronderstelling dat ik mijn lijst vorige week woensdag al had gepost, maar toen lag de site er uit en daarna was ik een paar dagen op pad. En weer daarna zat het niet meer in mijn systeem... Gelukkig had ik hem al klaar staan, dus kan ik hem tussen de gangen van het kersteten door hier even neerzetten.

7. Guns N' Roses met een cover die goed mee kan, heb de single destijds gekocht

Hier is-ie dan, de laatste gezamenlijke weeklijst van 1994, week 52. Met nog even 3 nieuwe binnenkomers en 1 re-entry en een nieuwe nummer 1.
Hoogste zijn de dj's Charlie Lownoise and Mental Theo. Wist nog iemand hoe die eerste er uit zag? In elk geval begon de happy hardcore rage hier pas echt goed mee. Enorme hit en enorm veel opvolging qua stijl.
Live komt nu in Nederland echt in de belangstelling met hun nummer I Alone dat in de tipparade staat en scoort bij ons al hun 2e hit. I Alone durf ik wel een 90s klassieker te noemen en komt ook meteen lekker hoog binnen (maar minder hoog dan de vrolijke gabbers)
Derde nieuwe is van de Wannadies, de You and Me Song circuleert in sommige kringen al al zal het nog even duren voor het grote publiek er weet van heeft. Een single van hun 3e album.

Prachtig jaar geweest 1994, ik kan er niets anders van maken. Natuurlijk was daar de opkomst van de band Porcupine Tree onder leiding van Steven Wilson.
Dan heb ik niets teveel gezegd, Wilson is zonder twijfel, ook hier, anno 2020 nog steeds één van de meest gewaardeerde artiesten van dit moment, heeft geweldige muziek geschreven, gespeeld en geproduceerd.

Niet per se vanwege Porcupine Tree is er nog veel andere symfo (of van origine symfo) in de lijst terug te vinden. Naast uiteraard de grunge, indie en andere alternatievelingen. Hoofdstroming, waar ze toch bijna allemaal onder vallen, blijft rock.

Verder deden in 1994 ook veel oudjes het nog goed, ik denk dat Joe Cocker er nog nooit in is geslaagd met drie nummers de top 100 van een jaar te bevolken.
Veel zin in 1995!

Mijn jaaroverzicht van 1994. Het was de eerste keer dat ik 'deed' alsof het 1994 was en zo de lijst maakte.
Dat beviel prima en ik heb ook best wat nummers herontdekt op deze manier. Ook wel wat ontdekkingen gedaan door eens wat te proberen wat me weinig zei hetzij uit de lijst van de UK charts hetzij van de lijstjes hier. En natuurlijk gefrustreerd geraakt als een nummer dat ik geweldig vind bij de rest niks (of zo goed als) heeft gedaan
Ik heb al een flinke lijst binnenkomers voor 1995 klaar staan, dat gaat ook weer een prima jaar worden.

Maar nu eerst mijn overzicht van 1994 dus. De hele top 40 telt mee waardoor ook een aantal niet-top 10's de lijst heeft gehaald. De nummer 2 heeft trouwens evenveel punten als m'n nummer 1 van de lijst van 2019

Blijkbaar vond ik het in week 23 nodig Björk te laten binnenkomen niet bedenkende dat ze eind 93 al in m'n lijst had gestaan Beetje onhandig en blijkbaar keek destijds ook niemand raar op.

Alsof er niets aan de hand is: mijn laatste top 40 van 1994. Met een top 3 die vastzit, en Wonderfull days blijft maar doorstijgen, waar moet dat heen?

Op 32 Ode to my family van The Cranberries, een scherp contrast met donkere voorganger Zombie, maar ook Ode to my family is niet alleen maar positief over haar jeugd (als ik het goed interpreteer).

Op 33 de bekendste song van Throwing Muses, dat ook direct met de deur (titel) in huis valt en dan nog lekker vier minuten doorrammelt.

Op 34 een minder bekende song van Robbie Robertson met een Indiaanse (Native American) titel en tekst, sterker nog, Robbie is niet te horen maar wel vrouwelijke vocalen. Met verder (bijna) alleen drums/percussie is dit wel een opvallend geluid.

En de Stone Temple Pilots maken hun 17e week vol, in mijn lijst een erg hoog aantal weken, terwijl ze zelfs niet op 1 gestaan hebben.

One van Metallica wint met een straatlengte voorsprong. Ik denk niet dat er een andere jaargang is waarbij de nummer 1 meer dan 100 punten meer heeft dan de nummer 2.

Het eerste gezamenlijke jaaroverzicht van 1994 is op basis van alle gezamenlijke top 20's. IK ben er achter gekomen dat ik zo hier en daar nog wel een foutje heb gemaakt in de telling per week die soms een plaats of 2 scheelde in de lijst maar ik ben uitgegaan van hoe ik het hier gepost heb.
Daar komt best een verrassende nummer 1 uit, zag ik niet direct aankomen. Het nummer staat wel al lang in de gezamenlijke, de laatste 12 weken van het jaar en blijft hoog scoren (zeker in de lijsten van toen - aangezien het nummer ook in de top 10 van de top 40 staat in de laatste week van het jaar). En dat terwijl het gezamenlijk niet eens op 1 heeft gestaan... wel in een aantal individuele lijstjes.

Je merkt dat het het jaar van de britpop is, dat is bij ons weinig anders. Blur, Oasis, Pulp en Suede, de grote 4 van britpop hebben allemaal op 1 gestaan bij ons.
In een britpopklassement gebaseerd op aantal weken op 1 wint Oasis heel duidelijk en blijft Blur achter.
