Ik gok dat Neon Bible mijn grootste zakker is. Die heeft nog een tijdje in mijn top 10 gestaan, maar daar is de glans onderhand wel vanaf.
Enige nieuwe binnenkomer in mijn lijs (vorig jaar een top 30) is mijn nummer 20. Een zeer recente ontdekking, dus wellicht een wat impulsieve actie. Toch voorspel ik dat deze volgend jaar nog steeds in mijn lijst staat.

Ik gok dat Neon Bible mijn grootste zakker is. Die heeft nog een tijdje in mijn top 10 gestaan, maar daar is de glans onderhand wel vanaf.
Enige nieuwe binnenkomer in mijn lijs (vorig jaar een top 30) is mijn nummer 20. Een zeer recente ontdekking, dus wellicht een wat impulsieve actie. Toch voorspel ik dat deze volgend jaar nog steeds in mijn lijst staat.
En Silversun Pickups: wát een band is dat toch! Terecht twee keer in mijn top 10.

Over enkele ogenblikken volgt de bekendmaking van de nummers 50 t/m 41, maar even specifiek wil ik de nummer 51 eruit pakken. Vorig jaar was het al de nummer 52 en dit jaar mist het album op 10 punten na de lijst. Uitgerekend dit jaar, het jaar van zijn overlijden. Dan heb ik het over:

Ook een album dat altijd in de top 40 stond (Lateralus), maar ook dit rockalbum valt er dit jaar buiten. Daar tegenover staan Discovery en Flaming Lips. Twee albums die gemeen hebben dat ze nooit ook maar in de buurt van de top 50 gekomen zijn (één keer plek 63 voor Discovery); Flaming Lips stond zelfs nog nooit in de top 100. Discovery komt uiteindelijk 5 puntjes tekort voor de top 40.

Twee albums die één keer in de top 40 hebben gestaan en er sindsdien nooit meer in de buurt gekomen zijn: Formless en Tick Tock. Ook een album dat altijd in de top 40 stond (Lateralus), maar ook dit rockalbum valt er dit jaar buiten. Daar tegenover staan Discovery en Flaming Lips. Twee albums die gemeen hebben dat ze nooit ook maar in de buurt van de top 50 gekomen zijn (één keer plek 63 voor Discovery); Flaming Lips stond zelfs nog nooit in de top 100. Discovery komt uiteindelijk 5 puntjes tekort voor de top 40.

Dat is het tweede jaar op rij dat ik dit decennium mis door vakantie. Ik zie bij deze onderste tien al een aardig handjevol dat volgend jaar hoger kan.

Het is blijkbaar een goed jaar voor Belle & Sebastian. Nooit kwam dit album in de top 100 en dit jaar stond het dan opeens in de top 40. Vervolgens leek die weer weg te zakken, maar ik was erg verrast het album opeens weer in de top 40 terug te vinden. De overige B&S-albums uit dit decennium staan niet eens in de top 300.

Parachutes dondert uit de top 20 en uiteindelijk mag Coldplay blij zijn dat ze überhaupt nog één plaat bij de bovenste 40 hebben staan. X&Y deed het dan weer verrassend goed met een 76e plek.
