Een Greatest Hits van Guided By Voices, daar kun een jaarlijks evenement van maken. Er komen elk jaar wel drie albums bij. Pollard is onuitputbaar. Maar ik ben helemaal bij een Greatest Hits van GBV.

Is er trouwens eens wel eens een Greatest Hits van Ween geweest?

O wacht, ik deed gewoon een ctrl-f op Lijst van Greatest Hits of...-edities - MusicMeterWiki - wiki.musicmeter.nl, maar daar mist nog een aantal edities. Dus dan zal GBV wel in de missende periode aan de beurt geweest zijn. Een tweede keer kan natuurlijk evengoed.

Ween is in 2017 geweest, ene Zaaf organiseerde dat toen.

De nummers met een * werden gediskwalificeerd omdat ze uit een ander jaar kwamen volgens RYM. Ik had meerdere bronnen gecheckt en ontdekt dat RYM lang niet altijd juist zit qua jaartal. Vandaar dat ik RYM niet als hoofdbron gebruikte. Het was te laat om nog op zoek te gaan naar vervangers. Volgende keer zal ik mij dus aan RYM houden, zoals iedereen. 't Was mijn eerste deelname.

Verder is dit zowat de uitslag die ik enigszins verwacht had. Dit zijn de platen die het bij Studio Brussel of mss zelfs Radio 1 ook zouden halen. Het was mij ook al duidelijk dat dezelfde smaak door veel deelnemers gedeeld werd, er is een zekere eensgezindheid aanwezig. Ik kan het merendeel van de uitslag ook zeker wel waarderen, maar er zijn nummers uit andere kringen die mij ook kunnen bekoren.

Voor mezelf heb ik simpelweg niets uitgesloten. Ik heb naast de alternatieve (etc) ook naar de commerciële hitlijsten gekeken. Het boeit mij namelijk niet echt wat de zogenaamde smaak-politie daarvan denkt. De enige bedenking die ik heb: Heeft het nog zin verder mee te doen? Mijn nummers maken geen schijn van kans. Mijn inzending voor 1996 is wel al binnen. En het is wel zo dat mijn smaak naar het eind van de jaren 90 toch wel richting StuBru verschoven is. We zien wel.

Oja, van Bush - Glycerine had ik eigenlijk wel verwacht dat deze het bij het merendeel van jullie uitstekend zou doen. Dat verrast mij dan wel weer.

Je hebt net zoveel overeenkomsten met de gezamenlijke top 20 als ik hoor (en ik doe bijna vanaf het begin mee). Het gaat er m.i. vooral om of je het leuk vindt om lijstjes te maken.

Daar beleef ik inderdaad plezier aan.
