Mijn top 20 van 1974. Na beluistering wist ik wat de top 3 ging worden, echter de volgorde vergde nog een paar luisterbeurten. Het gaat natuurlijk om de singleversie, neem ik de recent uitgekomen live versie van de nummer 2 mee in de waardering dan was dat overduidelijk nummer 1 geworden. Ook jammer dat die net uit 74 komt, in Nederland een hit in 75 en had in dat jaar moeiteloos op 1 gestaan.
Uiteindelijk maakte het ook weinig uit aangezien vrijwel niemand deze 3 ook had...

Goed, ik ga niet zeggen dat de top 20 tegenvalt (al dat gezeik ook...). De nummers 1, 7, 8, 13 en 19 heb ik ook in mijn top 20 staan en de nummers 3, 5, 6, 9, 11, 14 en 18 staan ergens tussen 20 en 40, dus dat valt best nog mee.

Ik verbaas me een beetje over de positie van BTO. Dat moet haast komen door al die fantasieloze users die klaagden dat het zo'n slecht muziekjaar was
Jammer ook wel dat de minste Bowie-single van het jaar er wel in staat en de beste juist niet. Voor de B-kant hoef je het niet te laten... En toch ook wel de mindere 10cc single. Daar dient beter over nagedacht te worden, jongens.

Kijk ik naar de prestaties van mijn eigen top 20 in de lijst, dan vraag ik me natuurlijk ten eerste af waarom iedereen over dat prachtige nummer van Janis heen heeft gekeken. En ook moet ik concluderen dat het Nederlandse produkt nog steeds zwaar onderschat wordt, gezien het onvindbaar zijn in de lijst van drie klassiekers.
