Alone Again in the Lap of Luxury / Now Wash Your Hands
Ja, die openingsriff werd inderdaad jarenlang door Kees Baars gebruikt. Jaren heeft Steven Wilson Brave geremixt en luister ik voor de Marillionmeter naar dit nummer... of eigenlijk deze twee nummers met één index. Met name Alone Again is een nummer dat muzikaal niet huizenhoog gaat, maar er op Brave wel even lekker tussendoor komt. Het Now Wash Your Hands gedeelte overstays its welcome, zoals de Britten dat zo mooi zeggen.

Ik heb het geloof ik eerder genoteerd: van Afraid of Sunlight heb ik de 2cd-editie, maar daarmee kwam dit me verder niet bekend voor. Tja, de ingrediënten zijn aanwezig, het liedje is wel aardig, maar het originele album was er nou niet echt van opgeknapt.

Typisch een demo.
Klinkt best aardig, maar wanneer Rothery aan zijn solo begint, is er plotseling een ietwat ongepaste snelle fade out.
