Ik weet dat smaken verschillen bla bla, maar ik vind het wel bijzonder dat er een paar lijstjes zijn zonder Disintegration erin.

Ach ja, zo zijn er altijd wel een paar deelnemers die niet depressief zijn .

The Cure was met name relevant van 1979-1983. The Top, Disintegration en Bloodflowers zijn op zich zeker nog wel fijne platen. In die tijd (1989) had ik nog trouw een The Cure-kalender op mijn kamer hangen en de eerste keer dat ik Disintegration hoorde liep uit op sex "Wil jij de nieuwe plaat van The Cure horen?". Kortom levendige herinneringen bij die plaat maar als ik The Cure wil horen is het meestal Boys Don't Cry (die 1980 verzamelaar), Chinese Whispers of Seventeen Seconds. Soms nog wel eens Pornography of Faith.

Maar ik heb denk ik voornamelijk in een alternatief 1989 geleefd. Ik heb helemaal niets in de Top 15 staan. Die Gavin Friday die draaide ik destijds ook best veel, Pixies met Doolittle ook nog wel (maar dat werd daarna volkomen overkill). Stone Roses (Fool's Gold), Neil Young (Rockin' in the Free World) en Lou Reed (Dirty Blvd) op de radio (tapen!!) en in de kroeg.

Niet geheel indachtig de titel. Helemaal niet eigenlijk.

En ik had t laatst bewust nog wel over Friday... Man man man, hoe ga je dat in hemelsnaam nog goed maken

Nou ja mijn nickname album komt uit 1990

Had waarschijnlijk meer met gierende hormonen van beide partijen te maken, daarna werd ook het ook wel redelijk disintegration. Nooit wat geworden verder.

Er waren andere opties.
Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me was al uit. Pornography ook.

Je hebt bands die 3 albums fantastisch zijn en daarna verwateren, en je hebt er die een stuk later pas hun echte hoogtepunt aantikken.
Voor mij is The Cure een zeldzaam geval van allebei die dingen.

Disintegration zet ik nog altijd veruit het meeste op. Qua productie ook mijn favoriet. Alsof je een waterval over je heen krijgt.

Misschien inspireer je me nog wel, dat ik hem binnenkort weer eens op zet.

Dit was uiteindelijk mijn Top 15, waarvan ik écht niet had verwacht dat zelfs mijn nummer 1 de Top 15 niet heeft gehaald. Tevens had ik de beste albums van de Peppers, NoMeansNo en (de op een na beste van) MInistry ook wel hoger gehoopt. Nul matches, een persoonlijk laagterecord. Maar inderdaad: zelfs Morbid Angel kreeg ik nét niet in mijn Top 15 gepropt, want 1989 is zó'n allemachtigprachtig jaar! Een Top 20 was wel gelukt.

En niemand het Italiaans-Sloveense Devil Doll genoemd? Zelfs Lying Mouth niet?
