Róisín Murphy: weer een prachtsingle van de Moloko-zangeres. In tegenstelling tot Jealousy juist heel subtiel. Heel mooie popmuziek waar veel in te ontdekken valt. Hier ben ik nog lang niet op uitgeluisterd
John Talabot: gloedvolle dance met een prachtige melodie
Boeoes Kaelstigen: sfeervolle, meeslepende house
Echo Movis: heel jong bandje, met een geluid dat aan de ene kant op seventies-rock geïnspireerd lijkt, maar aan de andere kant helemaal niet retro klinkt (zoals Dewolff en Pauw). Live deden ze dan weer denken aan Blonde Redhead. Frisse single die op me is gaan groeien.
Jamie xx: ik vind deze stukken beter dan Loud Places. Hij is nog niet helemaal op,zijn plaats gevonden, maar tof hoe ie deze keer UK Garage-invloeden in zijn muziek gebruikt.

Intro:
Marika Hackman heeft voor mij het beste album gemaakt dit jaar en nu brengt ze haar mooiste nummer als single uit. Top!
Het nummer van Todd Terje is al weer een jaar uit maar nu pas op single verschenen en daarmee tot mij doorgedrongen. Heerlijk pauzemuziekje of filmmuziekje waar ik spontaan van begin te glimlachen.
Fijne electronic/dance van Franskild zoals ik het graag hoor, met een vrolijkheid die het leuk maakt. Mooie ontdekking via het Maak kennis met 2015-topic van Arrie.
Veel nummers vang ik op van de radio en als dat meerdere keren per week mijn oren spitst en mij naar mijn laptop doen snellen om te horen welke artiest het is, dan is dat goed voor een notering in mijn lijst. Zo ook voor de overige nieuwkomers waaronder The Cavern, rustig popnummertje met fijn melodieus refreintje.
Het is al het zoveelste nummer van Mini Mansions wat mijn aandacht trekt. Nu met Alex Turner en het wordt tijd om het album te gaan beluisteren.
Hop Along is weer fijne rauwe damesrock en Tei Shi maakt dan weer een rustig ritmisch en electronisch nummertje.

Een mooi lijstje, met allemaal mooie nieuwe binnenkomers. Het duurde even om de hele week in kaart te brengen.....

Hoe dan ook, wellicht The Deaf als verrassende hoogste nieuwe binnenkomer. Ik had geen idee dat er hier sprake was van een Haagse band. Zodra je namelijk jezelf The Deaf gaat noemen, wordt al snel metal als genre vermoed. Maar nee, niets daarvan. Gewoon een mooie rocksong.

Ik volg Giel niet, 3 FM ook niet en het blijkt dat ze ook op Pinkpop staan. Ik heb ze slechts per ongeluk gevonden, gelukkig geheel en al buiten het pluggen om.

musician, The Deaf is zelfs het (zij?)project van de gitarist van Di-Rect, wellicht een naam die je wel eerder hebt gehoord. En Di-Rect is erg populair bij 3FM/Giel, dat helpt wel natuurlijk.

Ze hebben bij mij met hun vorige single toch 9 weken in de lijst gestaan, tot voor 2 weken geleden. Wel een meer uptempo track. Maar die nieuwe gaat bij mij ook weer binnenkomen. Doet die Spike c.s. toch wel goed.

Ik heb een afschuwelijke hekel aan Di-Rect (gehad) maar als een (ex-?)lid eens met een andere band begint en bereid is uit een ander vaatje te tappen, wie ben ik om het dan geen kans te geven. Zinvolle berouw komt na de zonde.

Overigens bestaat bij mij altijd de kans op enorme miskleunen. Wat wel of niet populair is tot en met wie wie is (en waarom), ik volg het allemaal niet. Ik oordeel op een nummer en kan rustig kiezen voor iets waarbij modieus georiënteerde muziekliefhebbers helemaal wit weg trekken.

Week 16: opnieuw de kaap van de 100 punten gerond door Grimes, eerste achtervolger (op geruime afstand) is sterke stijger Best Coast. Ook Faith No More en Sufjan Stevens stijgen sterk en werpen zich op als mogelijke toekomstige topper in onze lijst, iets waar ook Noel Gallagher wel eens in zou kunnen slagen.
Afscheid nemen doen we deze week onder meer van Years & Years, 1 van de weinige nummers die het zowel bij ons als in de commerciële hitlijsten enorm goed gedaan heeft, een mooi voorbeeld van de veelzijdigheid van de mumeafrekening dus

Wie kon dat zien aankomen: Faith No More bereikt voor het eerst in hun carrière de eerste plaats in mijn top 20 (op 2 hadden ze al eerder gestaan). Verrassend sterk, vooral dankzij die piano.

PRhyme: weer een topsingle van de samenwerking van producer DJ Premier en rapper Royce Da 5'9. Ook bijdrages van Adrian Younge en Dwele.
Buena Vista Social Club: er is oud archiefmateriaal afgestoft van deze oude Cubanen, en dat klinkt zeer aangenaam en vertrouwd.
Roots Manuva: op de A-kant werkt de rapper samen met Four Tet, op deze B-kant met Machinedrum. Interessante samenwerkingen die goed uitpakken!
Brodinski: Franse DJ die vaak samenwerkt met Gesaffelstein, o.a. op Yeezus van Kanye West, samen met een de excentrieke rapper Bloody Jay. Het resultaat klinkt vrij uniek, moest ook even wennen, maar is wel erg gaaf. Stond ondertussen zo lang in m'n tiplijst zonder te vervelen dat ie toch maar eens mijn top 40 in moest.
Sonnymoon: erg spannende, elektronische R&B
FKA Twigs: nog meer spannende, elektronische R&B, Twigs experimenteert lekker verder, daardoor nog vrij moeilijke kost. Hij moet echt nog op z'n plek vallen. Hij begint wel al beter te bevallen, intrigerend nummer.

- 18: weemoedige electropop a la Chromatics, project van iemand van Holy Fuck en een zangeres van Great Lake Swimmers
- 28: Roisin Murphy: zoals Arrie al zei subtiele popmuziek waarin heel veel te ontdekken valt
- 30: Chromatics hoor ik liever wat rustiger, maar de fatalistische inslag van hun muziek raakt me hier toch ook weer
- 31: 9 van de 10 Belgische bandjes waarmee StuBru ons overspoeld is 13 in een dozijn, maar Balthazar is de zeer fijne uitzondering. Mooie stem ook.
- 32: Dikke houseplaat van de zanger die twee jaar overleed, mooi eerbetoon.
- 34: Verrassende cover(keuze) van het ijzersterke Depeche Mode-nummer door de voormalige Smiths-gitarist
- 37: Mooi liedje van Sufjan, mooie tekst ook, maar wel muziek die slechts op spaarzame momenten tot zijn recht komt.
- 38: Utrechtse jangle-/indiepop met een bekende van me in de band, check ook de vrolijke clip hieronder.
