Ik kom straks met twintig zij-instromers van Progarchives (dat zijn sowieso enkel bands/artiesten die nog niet genomineerd waren). Volgens mij heb ik verder wel een lijstje nu van iedereen van wie ik iets verwachtte, maar daarna zijn we ook wel een heel eind. Denk dat ik dan de lijnen nog een keer opengooi voor pakweg 2 extra nummers per persoon.

Mooi ik heb met Moviedrome en Sahara er toch nog wel 2 die niet te missen zijn.
Trouwens Glass hammer ook nog niet gezien om maar iets te noemen.

Och, er staan al acht nummers van Yes in de lijst dus dan voegt Glass Hammer niets meer toe

Saga niet vergeten, hè! En Asia....

Ach Babb en Schendel zijn grote Yes fans ja, maar toch vele prog bands zijn schatplichtig aan Yes, Genesis, KC, VDGG etc.
Ik zie de knipoog ook welhoor.

Canterbury komt er trouwens redelijk beroerd vanaf, tot nog toe (1 x Gong, Caravan, Soft Machine, 2 x Robert Wyatt), RIO al helemaal

Goed, de klassiekers van Progarchives.

Methode: Progarchives onderscheidt 22 genres. Daarvan vallen "Prog Related" en "Proto-Prog" af (daarvan zeggen ze nota bene zelf dat het geen prog is), alsook de categorie "Various Genres/Artists" (wat een allegaartje van scores en tribute albums is). Dan houden we er 19 over. Van elk van die genres bestaat aldaar een toplijst. Uit elk van die toplijsten heb ik het bovenste album genomen van een nog niet vertegenwoordigde band/artiest en daar het volgens de MuMe-statistieken populairste nummer van genomen. Indien dat laatste niet lukte, heb ik het langste nummer genomen (of in het geval van Tangerine Dream: de eerste plaatkant).

Een fijne eenduidige methode, die hopelijk voor wat verdere diversiteit in het spel zorgt, wat ontdekkingen oplevert en vermoedelijk ook 1 of 2 extra nummers met een omstreden proggehalte. Ik heb nog even overwogen als organisator mijn discretionaire bevoegdheid in te zetten om dat ene 100%-jazznummer uit de lijst te weren, maar eenduidigheid heeft ook zijn charmes.
