LONS is een leuk album maar tipt nergens aan de vele dope albums rond die tijd. Alleen Busta is iets waar ik het voor terug zou luisteren. Rashad & Confidence is gewoon een modern day underground classic, mat banging 90s reminiscent productie en ditto rhymes met inhoud ook nog eens.
Imaginarium - Deliverance is de strijd tussen 2 superdope underground classics (in ieder geval in de FB-kringen waarin ik me begeef). Deliverance heeft misschien een lagere ondergrens maar IMO ook een stuk hogere bovengrens. Het album verveelt mij nog steeds niet na vele jaren... En als je ooit de CD ziet liggen, zou ik m meenemen: gaat voor absurde bedragen!
Hoezo staat Finsta Bundy hier niet voor, ik ga verder niet klagen...maar die sound is toch veel puurder dan het album van Mad Skillz wat ik overigens ook mad dope vind. Het zijn an-sich op de eerste battle na allemaal close calls, maar ik vind Finsta Bundy qua productie, mc'ing en als geheel gewoon een stuk prettiger om te horen.
The Nonce wint natuurlijk van The Beatnuts, dit is verre van The Beatnuts hun beste album... Leuk, elke keer weer... Maar The Nonce... Tja, alleen al mixtapes zou genoeg reden zijn om ervoor te stemmen!

In welke ronde zitten we eigenlijk?

Vreemd genoeg vind ik het hoe verder in het spel, hoe makkelijker om m'n voorkeur te bepalen. Finsta Bundy heb ik nog even extra gecheckt, maar ook daar duidelijke favoriet.

Ik had LONS lang niet geluisterd, maar R&C nog nooit. En dat had ik eerder moeten doen. Wat een vet album is dat zeg. T.I.M.E. is veel beter dan dat ik mij herinnerde, maar The Element of Surprise is echt dope.

Imaginarium hoor ik vandaag dus ook voor het eerst. De tweede fijne nieuwe kennismaking en ook dik verbaasd dat ook dit mijn oren niet heeft bereikt in eerdere rondes. Dikke shit!

Na jaren van absentie in mijn cd-speler, mocht From Where??? weer een keertje plaatsnemen. De som der delen uit Virginia wint van Finsta.

Twee van mijn eigen genomineerden gaan hier de strijd aan. De quiet storm van The Nonce tegen de funkyness van The Beatnuts. De twee voorgangers van The Nuts hadden (misschien) gewonnen, maar Stone Crazy niet.

Met JayM eens dat alleen eerste battle echt lastig is. Mijn puntje gaat naar Lewis, met name dankzij die heerlijke productie van Eyes of Dreams. Sowieso geweldig samplegebruik op die hele plaat. Heeft voor mij een wat langere houdbaarheidsdatum dan LotU.

Oei, acht dope platen. Dat mag ook wel in deze fase, maar toch. Allemaal een nipte voorkeur, al zou het ook elke dag kunnen verschillen. Bij twee van de battles ga ik toch voor de plaat die flink achterstaat. Vermaak me ook de laatste tijd weer veel met Stone Crazy, maar het kan ook komen omdat ik The Dynospectrum pas sinds dit spel ken. Black Sheep album vind ik doper dan Epidemic.
