Ow, Shad helemaal over het hoofd gezien. Inderdaad ook erg fijne release. En het is wat je zegt, veel interessante releases, maar ik heb er geen vertrouwen dat ze dit jaar nog het daglicht gaan zien.

Totaal onverwacht (voor mij): Roosevelt Franklin (Mr. Len en Kimani) is bezig met een nieuw album. Op hun eerste album staat nog steeds een van de beste hiphoptracks allertijden.

Er komt mogelijk ook een album van MF DOOM samen met The Alchemist. Ze hebben iig wel onlangs samengewerkt.

Dan heb ik goed nieuws, want gisteren is Black Snow 2 aangekondigd. Het album staat voor deze winter op de planning.

Sneller dan verwacht: Talib Kweli dropt dit jaar al zijn nieuwe album Gravitas, en wel op 15 december. Het album bevat producties van o.a. Q-Tip en Oh No en wordt in eigen beheer uitgebracht. Hier de pre-order plus de cover.

Vreemd, gezien hij dit jaar al een album dropte. Ik vond het verre van slecht maar bedenk me ook meteen dat een combinatie van de beste tracks van beide albums misschien wel had geleid tot een veel dikker album...

Typische Talib boodschap ook op de pre-order site. Ik overweeg het alvast...

Mastermind van Rick Ross komt twee dagen later uit: 17 december dus.

En RZA is met bezig met een album samen met Paul Banks, zanger van de band Interpol. Wanneer de plaat uitkomt is nog niet bekend.

26 november is het dan eindelijk zo ver: MMA van Jus allah komt dan uit en zal geen gastbijdrages bevatten (!). Kan alleen maar puur genieten worden.

Een beetje apart, maar dat vond ik 'The Cold Vein' ook toen ik deze voor het eerst hoorde. Ik moet het nog wat vaker beluisteren, maar het klinkt zeker niet verkeerd.

De laatste keren dat ik Jus Allah hoorde, rapte hij zo geforceerd, echt niet normaal. Is dit nog steeds zo? Vooral die multies, heb daar echt om moeten lachen.

Het is niet meer zo erg als bijv. op A History of Violence, maar nog steeds bij vlagen wel ja. Toch heeft ie de laatste jaren wel een paar aardige gastoptredens afgeleverd.

Ook al rapt ie geforceerd, op de een of andere manier kan ik altijd van die dude genieten. Soms zijn slechte raps ook goed

Het wordt helaas ook nooit meer zo goed als op Violent by Design ben ik bang.

Nee, maar dat kan je natuurlijk ook niet verwachten. We zullen zien

11 November komt Bun B met een nieuw album.

Weinig gastartiesten zo te zien. Ben ik niet gewend van hem. Maar misschien worden die er gewoon nog niet bij vermeld.

De titel van het album is blijkbaar ook aangepast. Trill 4 Life had beter bij de rest van de collectie gepast.

Is uitgesteld en moet nu ok 18 februari volgend jaar uitkomen.
