Ook hier de eerste van het nieuwe jaar. Slechts drie binnenkomers, in de 30. Op 33 de Ierse traditionele rockband The Frank & Walters met een aardige meezinger, typisch muziek die het aan de andere kant van de Noordzee goed doet, maar hier niet zo.

Op 34 de artiest die (weet ik sinds kort) de meeste hits in de UK heeft gehad en tegelijk nooit in de NL top 40 heeft gestaan (meer dan 30 geloof ik). Certain people I know is voor Morrissey's doen behoorlijk vrolijk en aanstekelijk, maar de tekst is natuurlijk wel weer ironisch en scherp.

Op 36 Freaky Realistic, een band die maar 1 jaar bestaan heeft en met Cosmic love vibes een vrolijk dansbaar liedje heeft gemaakt, maar verder niet erg in een hokje past, wat niet bevorderlijk is voor hitsucces.

Sowieso wel tof al die dance te zien. Dit was ook wel een beetje de tijd waarin house zich vertakte naar hardcore en mellow.

Omdat ik voorlopig geen top 40 meer doe wil ik dit compenseren met het publiceren van alle uitvallers uit de top 40. Ik doe dat met enig tijdverschil met de gepubliceerde top 20 zodat ik de kwaliteit van de nummers 21 tot en met 40 wat hoger kan houden.

Daarnaast ga ik ter compensatie hetzelfde doen wat ik in 1965-68 heb gedaan en doe in het topic van 50 jaar terug.
Een index van alle nummers die hier voorbij komen publiceren in een wekelijkse cyclus in dit geval van 40 nummers.
Het principe is als volgt. Ik wil zoveel mogelijk nummers van 1992-93 afwerken. Dat zijn alle Nederlandse, Britse en Amerikaanse Top 40 noteringen. Daarnaast wil ik alle nummers die voorbij komen in jullie lijstjes meenemen. En tenslotte zitten er nog wat nummers bij die het in geen enkel lijstje hebben gehaald maar die ik als tips heb beluisterd.
De index wordt zoveel mogelijk achteraf gepubliceerd en loopt dus als een bezemwagen achter de lijstjes aan.

Elke index per jaar krijgt een nummer en daarbinnen krijgt elke track een nummer.
Tussen haakjes volgt een sterretje (*) als deze in één of meerdere van jullie lijstjes al is opgenomen. Een (0) betekent dat die (eventueel vooralsnog) in onze lijstjes ontbreekt. Daarna volgen titel en uitvoerenden. De titels staan altijd per index in alfabetische volgorde.
Daarna volgen de maand van verschijning van de release (bij voorkeur de vroegste), het land alwaar verschenen en tenslotte expliciet of het een A-kant of iets anders betreft. In tegenstelling tot de jaren 60 zien we in de jaren 90 veel meer creatieve verschijningsvormen op dat punt.
