Nee nee! Da's een andere single!

Suzanne van Leonard Cohen Suzanne vind ik een mooi liedje, maar meer ook niet: eindigde bij mij op 40. Otis Redding's Sittin' On the Dock of the Bay vind ik zowaar niet zijn sterkste nummer, maar nog altijd op 12 bij mij. Hard to Handle vind ik beter, die heb ik op 9. Maar die stond veeeel te laag gewaardeerd op RYM, dus zal wel over het hoofd zijn gezien.

Eerste co-compositie van Norman Whitfield (Motown's main producer) en Barrett Strong (van Money (That's What I Want)), waar nog vele zouden volgen. Werd al eerder een hit voor Gladys Knight & the Pips, maar Marvin's versie overschaduwde dat succes nogal.

Ik ben helemaal lijp van de lange versie van CCR. Deze van Marvin Gaye vind ik goed, maar niet super. Bij mij op 30.

Deze had ik dan wel precies op 2 voorspeld.

Zal ik dan toch dezelfde nummer 1 hebben als de gemeenschappelijke en RYM?
Dat had ik niet verwacht.

Een van de twee nummers voor het album Forever Changes van de hand van gitarist MacLean die de toets der kritiek van dictator Arthur Lee konden weerstaan. Werd een klein hitje, maar de critici hadden het snoepje snel ontdekt. Toch viel de groep hierna snel uiteen, voornamelijk door drugs en ego.

Love mijn nummer 2, twee geweldige nummers van een briljant album op 1 single.
Ik had verwacht dat dat mijn nummer 1 van 1967 zou zijn maar die single is van 1968 blijkbaar.

Er missen nogal wat goede klassieke nummers in onze gezamenlijke top 20. Wat te denken van the Rolling Stones met Street Fighting Man? En The Beatles met While My Guitar Gently Weeps? En Aretha met Think?
Het nummer van Love op 1? Echt bijzonder kan ik het niet vinden.

Wel leuk dat Cuby + the Blizzards met Windows of My Eyes op 32 staan.
