Verhaaltjes:
1. Shocking Blue met een vergeten hit, het stond toch in de top 20 maar sneeuwde natuurlijk onder in het geweld dat er na kwam met Venus en Mighty Joe. Toch vind ik deze duidelijk de beste.
9 + 16 vooral voor de b-kant
10 voor de 2e keer Hey Joe bij mij, in 1967 door Love en nu Deep Purple. Nu als b-kant, de a-kant is ook een best fijne cover van de beatles.
14 jawel, de nummer 1 in de week dat ik werd geboren
15 Laura Nyro blijft een beetje een love/hate artiest met haar hoge stem, dit nummer beviel me de eerste paar keer luisteren erg maar kan me ook zomaar weer tegen gaan staan. Bijzonder nummer is het wel, ontdekking van dit jaar (1969 dus)?
18 ik doe niet aan guilty pleasures anders zou dit er een kunnen zijn, maar ach, waarom me schuldig voelen?

De einduitslag. Het zat allemaal dicht bij elkaar, maar Superbitch wint met een neuslengte verschil. Het lukte wederom niemand om de top 3 goed te voospellen. Bijna iedereen voorspelde The Rolling Stones in de top 3, dus daar ging het meestal fout. De Velvet Underground werd het meest onderschat (want slechts 2 keer in de top 10 voorspeld), terwijl Elvis (Suspicious Minds) en The Kinks (The Village Green Preservation) juist werden overschat, want 4 keer in de top 10. Ik kan nu al wel voorspellen dat 1970 andere koek wordt, dat wordt een hele klus om daar tot 20 punten te komen...

Viel best mee, deze keer. Maar liefst 6 keer iets uit de gezamenlijke top 20. En slechts 7 niet in de top 100, waaronder (voorspelbaar) mijn nummer 1. Daarvan is zowel de A- als de B-kant een cover, maar uitstekend uitgekozen en uitgevoerd. Beter dan Suzanne of Cirkels, wat mij betreft.

Geen zorgen, in 1970 gaan we allemaal naar de hel (als die er is).

Word nog een knap lastig jaar, dat 1970. Zie echt weinig nummers die een topniveau halen.

1970 is nu niet bepaald een topjaar, zeker niet in vergelijking met het jaar dat daar op volgt. Dat wordt dus vissen in troebel water.

1971 is inderdaad het beste muziekjaar ooit, maar 1970 is nou ook niet bepaald misselijk hoor

Zeker als je naar de lijst van RYM kijkt. Vol verbazing vond ik op pagina 2 en 3 de meest mooie songs. Als je dat hebt gedaan, dan kom ik toch wel tot een hele mooie 1970 lijst.

Mijn nummer 1 staat bovenaan de 2e pagina van RYM (weer zo'n moeilijk raadsel ). Toen ik een tijd terug the Greatest Hits van the Godfather presenteerde eindigde dit nummer op nummer 2. Hier is een foto van the one and only:

Vanaf 1970 begint voor mij toch wel de minste periode in de popmuziek, die duurt tot en zeker met 1975.
Ik ben alvast voor 1971 wta verder gegaan dan pagina 3 van RYM en op sommige pagina's verder naar achter kom je nog wel wat tegen van 'oja die' maar het blijft afzien.
