Het is vastentijd en juist in deze periode behaald Marilyn Manson een grote hit in de Eigenwijze 30 met Third day of a seven day binge. Een nummer over verslavingen en menselijke relaties met zichzelf, anderen en God. Zijn nieuwe CD is Bijbelser dan ooit verteld Marilyn Manson hierover, zijn teksten hebben vaak meerdere diepe lagen. Hoewel je veel verwijzingen zie over de 7 dagen dat God de aarde schiep (de derde dag het land, water, planten en bomen-dus ook ons eten en vele drugssoorten) heeft Manson het zelf dat 3rd day of a 7-day binge over de eerst beschreven zombie gaat, in de evangelie van Johannes. Lazarus was, zo kan men daar lezen, persoonlijk bevriend met Jezus. Er staat verhaald dat hij door Jezus uit de dood werd opgewekt nadat hij reeds enige dagen dood was. Ook zelf is Jezus opgestaan uit de doden, na 3 dagen. Rock is dood volgens Marilyn Manson een heeft wellicht ook een opstanding nodig. Marilyn Manson is zelf ook opgestaan, hij heeft misschien wel zijn beste album gemaakt.

- Björk: een nummer dat me steeds aan Joga doet denken, misschien ook door de tekst. Hoe dan ook, echt weg was Björk nooit, maar haar laatste album is toch wel van een niveau dat zij al zeker 10 jaar niet gehaald had. En Stonemilker hoort daar zeker bij.
- Years & Years: staan er nu met al hun recente singles in. Qua popmuziek toch wel een heerlijk groepje, stuk voor stuk perfecte verslavende liedjes.
- Courtney Barnett: hoog jaren '90 gehalte qua geluid, fijne zangeres. Al vond ik Avant Gardener wel een niveautje leuker.
- Maxxi Soundsystem: mooie deephouse, inclusief koebel.
- Zoufris Maracas: mooie mix tussen chanson, wereldmuziek en indie, zoals eigenlijk alleen Fransen dat kunnen

Liar: prachtige, elektronische track met samples van Justin Timberlake's My Love en een erg toffe clip
Kovacs: deze talentvolle dame laat in haar nieuwe single weer haar bijzondere stemgeluid horen, samen met een klezmer-viool.
Matias Aguayo: ingetogen, spannende dance uit Chili. Mooi, warm geproduceerd ook.
Woman's Hour: mooie zweverige popmuziek met een zangeres om verliefd op te worden.
Alt-J: het debuut vond ik wel aardig maar de singles van het tweede album bevallen me erg goed, vooral Every Other Freckle ben ik erg goed gaan vinden en ook Warm Foothills, weer heel anders is mooi. Deze komen ze met een rustig, relaxed folkliedje.
