Voor het eerst dit jaar minder dan 20 stemmers (18 om precies te zijn). Zelf verwachtte ik Condolence ruim op 1 deze week, maar aangezien gerre en Reijersen niet aanstemmen toekwamen, zitten we zowaar met een vrij unieke situatie deze week, namelijk een gedeelde eerste plaats! Het aantal stemmers is bij beide gelijk, het eerstvolgende waarnaar ik kijk is het aantal eerste plaatsen, en daarin haalt Kendrick het nipt (3 tegenover 2).
Verder nemen we ook afscheid van enkele sterkhouders van de voorbije weken (Immortal, Daffodils en Nemesis), die we ongetwijfeld allemaal wel zullen terugzien in de eindafrekening.

Misschien geen hoge nieuwe noteringen maar allemaal wel mooi. Die van The Pop Group is natuurlijk bizar in z'n soort maar ik kan hem toch wel hebben.

The Waterboys en Royal Blood blijven geweldige nummers uitbrengen, Gardner is na z'n debuut niet meer zo heel erg verrassend meer, Find yourself had ook makkelijk op z'n eerste album kunnen staan. Ach, wat geeft het als je er van houdt.

Everything Everything: catchy pop met dance-invloeden en gerapte coupletten. Lekker mengelmoesje.
Nocturnal Sunshine: een alias van Maya Jane Coles waaronder ze wat meer dubstep-invloeden gebruikt
Buscabulla: dromerige pop geproduceerd door Dev Hynes (Blood Orange, Lightspeed Champion)
Clipping: licht experimentele hiphop, al is deze single van Clipping erg toegankelijk. Wel een lekker eigenzinnige rapper. Hun derde hit in mijn hitlijst, na Body & Blood en Inside Out.

- The Emperor Machine: ik ben fan van Jacques Renault (trouwens vernoemd naar een personage uit Twin Peaks) sinds zijn disco-edits uit de OTP Party Breaks reeks en dit is ook wel weer een lekker knallende discoplaat.
- Major Lazer brengt eigenlijk aan de lopende band releases uit. Vaak troep, maar soms zit er een gouden popplaat tussen. Deze hoort duidelijk in de laatste categorie. Laat dit maar een zomerhit van jewelste worden!
- Makthaverskan: dit doet me qua Siouxsie-navolgerij een beetje denken aan Savages. Heerlijke uptempo galmwave.
- Alamo Race Track doet een Sparklehorsje. Mooi intiem nummer. Komt een hoop fijns uit Nederland de laatste tijd!
- De eerste keer dat ik dit nummer van Riley Walker draaide, heb ik even gecheckt of dit niet was verdwaald in mijn tiplijst. Dit klinkt meer als 1971 dan als 2015. Fijne folk en voor een jonge jongen een opvallend oude stem.

Ontdekking van de afgelopen week is Kongos, tijdens het fitnessen stuitte ik toevallig op het zeer catchy Come With Me Now. Waarna ik mij verder ging verdiepen in het album dat verschillende stijlen omvat. Niets nieuws onder de zon, maar wel verdomd lekker! De laidback reggae beat in dit nummer past perfect bij het mooie Lenteweer van nu.

Verder veel moois van oudgedienden als Grimes, Major Lazer, M83, Roosbeef en The Prodigy. Wild Frontier en vooral Nasty van laatstgenoemde vond ik stevig ruk, maar The Day Is My Enemy is wel een fijn stampnummer. Nu nog even afwachten of hij alsnog niet heel snel over zijn houdbaarheidsdatum heengaat.

Dance Lover leuk bandje, ja, die Kongos! Come With Me Now was een aardig grote hit (top 40) in Amerika.

Overigens ook een leuk weetje is dat het de zoon van John Kongos zijn. John wie? John Kongos had ooit een hit met He's Gonna Step on You Again, een nummer dat de Happy Mondays later omtoverden tot Step On.

Ik zie dat ze ondertussen alweer nieuwe singles hebben, ik heb ze na hun eerste twee singles niet meer zo gevolgd. Ik ga eens luisteren.

iamsander, het scheelt dat het carnavalgehalte nu wat begint af te nemen in je top 20. Je bent alleen ook vaak net wat later met nummers dan de rest, heb ik het idee.

Bij Kasabian weet je het maar nooit, het laatste album vind ik zeer wisselvallig. Er staan prima rocksongs op maar ook gewoon elektronische troep. En die combinatie werkt helemaal niet, voor mij in ieder geval niet. De op één na de laatste single Stevie was echter een geweldige rocksong en ook Bow is weer lekker stevig. Daar gaan we nog veel lol mee beleven.

Dan een naar ELO klinkende song van Dave Kerzner met dank aan vigil. Nothing is weliswaar prachtig gedaan maar hierdoor niet heel erg verrassend. Toch hulde, het is prettig als je niet meer op Lynne hoeft te wachten tot je een ons weegt.
