Wel erg ontgoochelend dat mijn nummer 1 het weer niet haalt. Diamond Life vind ik een van de hoogtepunten van de jaren '80. Dit is al het zesde jaar op rij dat de "winnaar" niet in mijn top 20 staat. Net als vorige week heb ik slechts vier treffers. En ja, West, ik had al op Paolo Conte gestemd, maar dat heeft dus ook niks uitgehaald.

1985: Er is weer eens een elfstedentocht, Evert van Benthem wint. In Rusland overlijdt partijleider Tsjernenko, Gorbatsjov volgt hem op. Veel onlusten en rellen (en zwarte doden) in Zuid-Afrika leiden tot het uitroepen van de noodtoestand en economische sancties door US en UK. Live Aid wordt gehouden n.a.v. de hongersnood in Ethiopie. De eerste pin-betaling in Nederland vindt plaats.

En een mededeling: uw spelleider wil rond de kerst even een tandje afschakelen. Dat houdt in dat na 1985, waarvan de ontknoping de 17e wordt prijsgegeven, het volgende geldt voor 1986 en 1987:
inzenden kan men sws (ruim) van tevoren, de deadline van 1986 ligt op 29 december - de top 5 wordt dus 31 december gepresenteerd. de deadline van 1987 ligt op 12 januari en de toppers zijn 14 januari in te zien.

Daarna ga ik weer full speed.

'84 is het jaar dat ik mijn eerste 1* heb geven en dit voor een van mijn fav. projecten. SPK verkoopt zijn ziel aan de (commercieele) duivel. Tja enkele dagen nadat ik een beetje over SPK aan't lezen was, en vooral hun uithalen richting "mainstream" hoor ik hun '84 album. Gewoonweg schandalig!!!

Zo, eindelijk heb eens Niets in de top 10, en amper iets bij de eerste 100. Ik leef waarschijnlijk op een andere planeet.
Toch ook een deel Metal in mijn lijst, wel niet bij de eerste 20, maar ja ik ben geen 16 meer en er valt (voor mij) veel andere muziek te ontdekken. D.g.z. heb ik in de week toch een heel deel metal/punk EP's op de digitaale draaitafel gegooid en sommigen smaken heel lekker, vooral dat zware "doom" gedoe.

Zo zie ik dat ik nog geen stem heb uitgebracht op Stevie Ray's '84 album. Zeker top 20 matriaal. Elke week vind ik er zo wel enkelen.
