Toch wel verreweg het minste nummer voor mij op CAS..; wat betreft sfeer en muziek ook niet zo passend. Volgens mij heb ik de album pagina al eens gezegd dat ik in plaats van dit nummer liever Tux On op het album had gezien.
En voor de Marbles fans goed nieuws; dat album is 2 plaatsen gestegen in de gemiddelde album rating!
En met de stem van Meneer de Uil van de Fabeltjeskrant ( voor de echte oude Marillion fanboys ) :
ja kindertjes, jullie raden het al het hele album werd weer gedraaid in Cafe het Praathuis wat tot veel geluidsoverlast zorgde! De vogeltjes buiten konden hun eigen gezang niet meer horen!

Deze hoort niet bij de groten van Clutching at Straws... maar een groots album kan juist groots zijn door de aanwezigheid van dit soort muzikaal luchtige tussendoortjes (zie ook de klassieke Genesisalbums). Met een glansrol voor Mark Kelly, toch ook wel voor Fish zelf, en een geloofwaardig ingeweven hardrockriffje. Geen klachten.

Just for the record is wat mij betreft een wat eenvoudig en saai nummer uit het Fish tijdperk. Vandaag terug naar het andere tijdperk. Vandaag ter beoordeling één van de meest gespeelde covers.

(Waar het volgende nummer zwaar ondergewaardeerd is, vind ik deze heel zwaar overgewaardeerd, meer een vehikel voor H als een goede muzikale song, nee, ik vind het maar matigjes)

(dit nummer wordt hier blijkbaar niet op waarde geschat, ik vind het gewoon het op één na beste nummer op Clutching At Straws, met een dead-on tekst, maar dat ook muzikaal formidabel in mekaar zit)

(ik vind het wel een geslaagde cover, ook gewoon een goed nummer en goed geïnterpreteerd)

Het voelt bijna als gewetensnood als je van een nummer eerder de coverversie kende dan het origineel. Nou zou ik dat 'eerder' niet met zekerheid durven zeggen (ik luisterde ook vrij veel Arrow in de tijd dat ik het meeste Marillion leerde kennen, dus Rare Bird kan alsnog best eerder geweest zijn), maar de versie van Marillion heeft voor mij wel een soort oerstatus. Lekker orgeltje, fijne solo van Rothery. En tja, beter dan vrijwel al het reguliere werk op Holidays in Eden.
