Nu wel officieel gereleased

(Nieuwe) single voor hun nieuwe album. Komt uit op 6 april en heet: 4 Dimensions on a Paper.

Nieuwe POS single is uitgebracht, en hij schijnt ook bezig te zijn met een nieuw album.

Zelf moet ik bekennen er niet echt weg van te zijn, maar hey, dat gebeurde ook bij WDELH. Grappig overigens hoe het vaker zo is dat de mainstream ideeën overneemt van de meer underground muziek, en hier de underground een paar jaar later de T-Pain-stijl autotune raps overneemt.

Dat laatste is zo waar

8 augustus komt nieuwe album van Kno uit... Zin in!!

Trapmuziek, zweverige zanghiphop en donkere gedistorte rap lijken wel alomtegenwoordig, maar misschien zoek ik verkeerd. Heeft iemand nog aanraders qua recente traditionelere hiphop? Dan denk ik aan boom bap en old school (mag zowel oosten als zuiden als westen zijn), geen Rhymesayers of Babygrande.

Zie allereerst de laatste post van Dirruk. Hex One maakt zo ongeveer alles de moeite waard, als je het mij vraagt.

Daarnaast komt Reks, je weet wel: die hiphop-conservatieve knakker met de magistrale flow, aan het eind van de zomer met een nieuwe plaat. Blijkens dit alvast uitgebrachte nummer lijkt 'ie zich wat afwisselender te willen profileren op dit album:


Het derde en vooral tweede verse zijn nochtans duidelijk sterker dan het rustigere begin. Dikke Buckwild-beat, trouwens.

Wat een lijstje zeg, maar Liquid Swords II, seriously... En hopelijk komt DOOMSTARKS er nu eindelijk eens van.

In de categorie ''gepland voor 2016 of later'' staan natuurlijk (een hoop) albums die nooit uit gaan komen. DOOMSTARKS staat wel gepland voor dit jaar volgens zowel het label (Nature Sounds) als Ghostface zelf, maar dat zegt uiteraard nog niks.

Zo. Daar zitten wat mooie dingen tussen. Benieuwd wat ervan uitkomt van het onderste rijtje.

Is uiteindelijk niet meer dan een (flinke) verzameling voorheen niet uitgebrachte instrumentals geworden: klik.

Tip voor de fans van de golden age sound. Features van Damu, Sadat X, El Da Sensei en Blu.

Nieuwe album van Vinnie Paz, The Cornerstone of the Corner Store komt 28 oktober uit dit is de eerste single. Die Buckwild-beat is wel echt heerlijk!

Nieuwe Eminem. Klinkt gedreven maar toch niet meer zo goed als eerst.

Klinkt idd gedreven en lyricaal is het weer ijzersterk, maar het klinkt ook wel irritant op de één of andere manier...

Ik vind het in ieder geval heel intrigerend. Meer kan ik er voorlopig ook niet over zeggen.

Geen nieuwe plaat, maar het Nederlandse Below System Records heeft een geremasterde versie van Blackmarket Seminar uitgebracht. De plaat van Madlib en Kazi die in 1996 werd opgenomen staat inmiddels ook op Spotify. Uiteraard staat onderstaande classic ook op de plaat
