Geweldig nummer, bij The Beatles' Ticket to Ride hoor je al lichte Indiase invloeden, maar dit is pas echt raga rock.

Inderdaad wel opvallend dat een finalist uit de MuMeladder hier niet eens de top 10 haalt...

Paint It Black zo hoog zou me wel verbazen, da's dan meer omdat het zo superbekend is dan dat iedereen dat echt zo'n geweldig nummer vindt denk ik?

Deze viel bij mij net buiten de lijst, die andere bananensingle heb ik wel vrij hoog.

nico1616 is de winnaar. Gefeliciteerd. Samen met 50tracks was hij de enige die de nr 1 goed voorspelde (jammer dat hij op de vijfde plek de nr 49 voorspelde ). Dat is in ieder geval beter dan 1965 toen niemand dat lukte. Als je de top 10 van RYM had ingevuld, was je trouwens 4de geworden. Kortom, het was een best voorspelbaar jaar. Hulde ook voor DjFrankie die lekker eigenwijs gewoon de nr 62, 67, 70 en 77 in z’n top 10 zette.

Het meest overschatte nummer was River Deep - Mountain High dat 6 keer in de top 10 werd gezet

En zaaf, u was weer onovertroffen

Ik zie dat mijn favoriete Nederlandstalige single uit 1967 (later nog gecoverd door Noordkaap) zelfs niet eens in de Top 1000 van RYM staat... 6 stemmen maar, onbekend maakt onbemind. Arme Joe, geen geluk voor hem.

En mijn favoriete rocksteady-nummer heeft ook maar 4 stemmen zie ik. In de jaren '80 scoorde een naamgenoot van een bekend acteur hier een grote hit mee, maar het origineel vind ik leuker.

Nog een paar laagvliegers (onder de top 200) die mij wel op de shortlist staan:

228: Frans psychedelisch meesterwerk, veel en veel beter dan die bekende hit van hem
354: b-kant, cover van een blues-traditional en ook gedaan door Them een paar jaar terug. Lekker maniakale versie.
364: eigenlijk 2e reïncarnatie van een van de grote bands van een paar jaar terug, hier met een nummer over het grootste festival voor Woodstock

Nog 4,16 dagen over voor de editie 1967 , 15 lijsten binnen...

Ik hoop op:

Die laatste heb ik ook, vond dat The wel opvallend.

1967 is wat singles betreft het topjaar van de beroemdste band aller tijden, al gaat dat om 1 geval met name om de b-kant.

Verder heb ik 2 nog Fransen (1 dame die al vroeg op was en 1 heer die in 1968 2 uur later opstaat), 2 Jamaicaanse singles, 1 keer country en 1 bananensingle.

Moet zeggen dat ik de versie uit 1967 nog mooier vind dan de latere.

Maar inderdaad een zeer sterk jaar voor rocksteady, ik zou daar alleen al een top 20 van kunnen maken.

JT heeft wel 2 uitstekende singles bedenk ik me nu, neem aan dat jij ook de bekende hebt. Die andere heeft maar 7 stemmen zie ik, staat ook niet in de RYM-toplijst.
