Dat was nog best spannend, die Top 3. Terwijl ik voorhand dacht dat Radiohead op zijn sloffen en met twee vingers in de neus zou winnen.
Ik had ook verwacht dat ik deze keer wel een stuk of vier, vijf matches zou hebben, maar wederom heb ik jullie smaak weer overschat.
Daarentegen wel vijf matches in de Top 30 én heb ik maar twee platen genoemd die door niemand anders waren vermeld, dus al met al maak ik een goede beurt voor mijn mainstreammoyenne.
Evenzogoed toch maar twee andere stemmers die het beste album van 1995 hebben genoemd: dat is echt heel erg weinig hoor, mensen. Het is geen blinde teringtakketyfusherrie, het is de beste plaat die Led Zeppelin en The Doors nooit hebben gemaakt.

Beck startte de sessies voor Odelay met producers Tom Rothrock and Rob Schnapf en de plaat leek een ingetogen, akoestische te gaan worden. Uit die sessies is Ramshackle op het album beland. Maar Beck kreeg een ingeving. En ging in zee met de Dust Brothers, de producers van oa de Beastie Boys. En dit pakte sterk uit, de songs waren al goed en de krokante stijl sloeg aan en maakte van Odelay en de singles goedverkopende platen die ook nog eens goede kritieken kregen.
