Bedankt zaaf! Leuk jaar dat '62, vooral het geëxperimenteer met koortjes van Max Roach bevalt me altijd goed. En Mingus (samen met de te weinig bejubelde Roland Kirk) met de lolbroek aan, en dan toch stiekem zulke geniale muziek maken. De humor in zijn muziek onderscheidt hem van die andere jazz-grootheden/tijdsgenoten, die bloedje serieus zijn altijd.

Ein Deutsches Requiem staat bij mij van de klassieke werken zeer hoog genoteerd. Helaas kan ik er alleen van genieten als ik in een zeer droevige stemming verkeer. Het is beslist geen vrolijke muziek.
