J.P. was niet ‘enkel’ recording artist, hij was ook een succesvolle radio dj en één van zijn meest vooruitstrevende prestaties was dat hij verantwoordelijk was voor de allereerste videoclip (ja ja, er zullen vast bronnen zijn die claimen dat iemand anders 2,5 seconden eerder was, ga fietsen vangen joh).

Hoewel hij vooral bekend staat om zijn novelty songs, nam hij wel degelijk serieuze songs op. Een aantal daarvan bracht hij uit onder zijn eigen naam.
