Ik ken uit 2017 alleen Blackfield - V.

Dat is vrij magertjes, want andere jaren kom ik meestal al wel tot 3 albums. Er is echt helemaal geen één album waar ik enorm naar uitkijk en dat heb ik nog niet eerder meegemaakt (vooruit: Depeche Mode is wel leuk). Ik hoop dus op onbekende namen die me gaan verrassen.

Yaaaay, eerste Top 3 mogelijk van 2017

In tegenstelling tot vorig jaar rond deze datum was het gemakkelijk te voorspellen dat David Bowie (met Blackstar) de toppositie tot het einde van het jaar zou vasthouden. Dat zal niet opgaan voor deze release, EP's eindigen doorgaan niet hoog op jaarlijstjes.

Voorspelling: geen van deze releases zal in mijn Top 25 van 2017 staan, maar ze zijn voorlopig wel lekker om naar te luisteren tot het vuurwerk vanaf vrijdag echt gaat knallen... hoop ik dan maar!

Schijnt dat Michael Monroe dit jaar met een nieuw album uit komt, en Hardcore Superstar ook.
Zie er naar uit.
Tot nu toe zijn we verblijd met de jongste borelingen van Kreator en Sepultura, zullen deze de nog lange zomer overleven en in december terug te zien zijn in de top-10 van 2017?
Als de klassieke fout van Nederlandse bands niet wordt gemaakt, namelijk dat de band uit elkaar valt, zullen ook de Sisters of Suffication dit jaar met een nieuwe release komen. Zeer benieuwd.
Hoop verder dat punkrock zich in een hernieuwde belangstelling mag verheugen, zoals bands als Nashville Pussy. Is vooral een live-aangelegenheid maar hopelijk verkopen albums (daardoor) ook steeds beter.
Van de popmuziek verwacht ik niet veel. Iconen zijn ons ontvallen, hoef ik niemand te vertellen, en worden erg gemist.
Eén uitzondering: op bevrijdingsdag verschijnt Pollinator van Blondie.
Tot nu toe nog geen in 2017 gereleased album volledig beluisterd. Top-10 volgt.
De seventies zijn sowieso veel mooier, luister eens naar die albums.

Pfff, een wel erg matige start. Die Molochs en Matthew E. White waren 'wel leuk' om te beginnen maar geen lijstjesmateriaal. Ik kijk uit naar De KAT, Timber Timbre en Father John Misty.
