Drie metalmatches! Gewoon eventjes drie (!) metalalbums in de eindlijst! Ik word er bijna emotioneel van. En dat nog van het jaar dat ik er definitief voor verloren raakte. Ik had stiekem ook nog een beetje gehoopt dat de hardrockliefhebbers hier naast de doorbraakalbums van Bon Jovi en Europe ook nog hadden gedacht aan het echt véél en véél sterkere Tesla album en dat deze nog in de Top 50 ofzo zou belanden, maar helaas. Misschien een herkansing voor 1989. Maar sowieso een mooie en gevarieerde uitslag, zelfs Big Black in de Top 20 en Candlemass en Spacemen 3 in de Top 40.

Het is je vergeven. Om het laatste restje metalen geloofwaardigheid dat ik nog over had ook even te ondergraven, wil ik ook nog wel even poneren dat Master of Puppets bij beluistering altijd net wat minder is dan in de herinnering. Soit, toch een 13e plek.

In de hoogste regionen was het nog even efficiënt matches scoren, al was ik met zes matches niet zo mister mainstream als sommige anderen hier. Wel is dit waarschijnlijk het enige jaar waarin het collectief en ik het over de koppositie eens zijn (hoewel... 1992?).
